I put down a deposit on a 2016 today. It's being built 6/11 and will be hopefully at the dealer sometime mid-July.

 

Congrats. Auto, or manual? Are you trading your truck as is, or part out?

 

Is it gonna look like this

 

Manual this go around. My truck was declared a total loss by my insurance company on Friday. We agreed to a payout and I'm moving onto the next one.

 

I want it to...but it's time to move past that look. I will test fit the bar to the new one to see what it looks like, but I suspect the 2016 tracks sit too low for the bar to bolt on. I do already have a rough idea of what the new one will look like in my head, maybe a version of what Marty's would have looked like if BTTF was filmed in 2016.

 

I don't doubt it.

I dropped my car off at my friend's shop once. When I got it back the key tag had mcfly written on it instead of tacoma haha

 

Yeah, I had a service guy say "two coats of wax, Biff" as I got out of my old one. I ordered silver this time around. I couldn't do MGM as the new ones are too close to the 2G, looks wise and I'd always be comparing. I can't do black for a daily driver. But, I got a DCSB Off-Road with the 6MT and the tech package, so that's a win. It's a bit of a unicorn truck, but that's alright by me.

I will have an LED roof bar at some point, can't not have that.

Thanks! I'm really bummed out as I absolutely LOVED my truck, but I knew if it were repaired, it would never be the same as it was before the accident and that would have always bothered me.

Agreed. However, it absolutely mangled the frame. The cab to bed gaps were WAY off side to side. The whole shock assembly was bent to pieces, the wheel was cracked in half, it really did a number to the truck. Originally they wanted to straighten the frame to which I said not a chance. When they quoted a new frame, it ended up totaled.

 

Were you able to salvage anything off of it before they totaled it?

 

I got the IPF lights, the CB, the ScanGauge II and the Wet Okoles. Everything else was part of the offer since I had receipts for everything on the truck.

 

Well at least they worked with you on it. When my first evo got tboned it went to the auction with camry seats, a cassette player and 15 inch rims with civic brake calipers in the trunk.... They said whatever I took off I had to replace....

And this is what I did with the wood chips I picked up. Last year I put chips on the little hill, but this year I brought them down as well since no grass grows there because of the trees.



And then this circle around the trees was already here, so we've been putting chips there the past few years.
