So I am looking at installing a K&N air intake and a cat back exhaust on my 2013 Tacoma TRD Sport, and I was wondering if anyone had done similar mods and what type of tuning it requires after installation. I do apologize for being a newbie, I know there is a ton of info to research, but I figured I would post this to get a straight answer from someone who knows. Much appreciated.

URD Catback Exhaust, URD 2.825" Super Grip Pulley, URD Spec-U Equal Length Headers, URD 255lph Fuel Pump, OEM FPR Mod.
Sadly neither will give you much in terms of power, but on the plus side your truck will sound way cooler. No tuning needed on our trucks for these mods. And just as a suggestion i would look into the URD catback exhaust and the AFE pro dry rather than the K&N.

I was thinking of doing the same to my truck with the k&N, what make the pro dry a better choice. besides being more than half the price. Sorry I'm a newbie as well.

It's a dry filter versus an oiled one. Oiled ones can cause issues with oil build up on the MAF and also need to be serviced occasionally. A dry filter can just be removed and blown out with an air compressor then reinstalled.

Well, given your truck actually has a cold air intake (CAI) then putting a K&N intake on makes is a hot air intake and thus reducing performance overall. Cost verse result doesn't add up for buying a CAI. Just buy an AFE pro dry filter and you'll be better off!

So I checked out both the URD exhaust and AFE intake, those are right up my alley. On the exhaust, are you recommending the URD stainless Mark 3 system, or the racing one? One says "not street legal", so Im guessing the Mark 3 system.

After putting on an intake and exhaust would I need to upgrade the fuel pump? Anyone have any trouble running too lean?

I meant the Mark 3, the other system is called their spec u system. It eliminate the y pipe from what i remember which is why its not classified as street legal since the y pipe has the two rear cats. The spec u is a better performer and sounder than most anything else on the market but you pay a steep price for it. The mark 3 is just a little more agressive than the trd. Its fairly quiet so you wont be annoyed.

Your fuel pump will be fine untill you go forced induction. At that point you can start worrying about it, but otherwise you are totally fine.

Nice that is the same one I was looking at. You may want to check it out on Amazon as well.

Christ! 426 for some plastic tubes/box and a filter. What a crock of sh**. From the reading I've done on here, a new air intake system is worthless. Unless it's supercharged. Just keep you a clean filter in there. I am considering the TRD exhaust... If I can find one for a reasonable price.

As for the afe stage 2 si.....it resonates so loud inside the cabin, its rediculous while n/a and passing, merging, or at just about any high load situation.

I think you're asking about a tuner/ piggy back controller.
Adding an intake and exhaust will lean out the truck, but it will adjust good enough for normal driving.
Some intakes could reduce power by throwing off the maf sensor readings and would require a tuner for positive results.
Yes you will see gains from a tuner but there is no good bolt on and forget system.
The maf cal and unichip are the 2 entry level tuners but you will still need to understand tuning to make it worth the money.
Or you will have to pay a tuner. If you have a tuner close by that is familiar with Toyotas I should be very easy to get a good tune.

So use an intake with lots of positive results and you should be ok.

Anyone with a 2nd Gen who is swapping (or has recently swapped) out your OEM air box/intake for one of the CAI, let me know if you'd be willing to sell it.

I'm ditching my KnR because it's just been a headache. Have to get the special cleaning system, make sure it's properly oiled, etc. Some other stuff too including it falling off from vibration on a dirt road yesterday. I'm just over it.

I'll pay a reasonable price and shipping to go back to stock.

I still have all my stuff. Its from a 13', so im not 100% sure it would work. As far as I know, it just had and extra bracket for air injection system. Someone else could chime in if they know. If you are interested what do you think a reasonable price is? I'm not here to gauge anyone so I think $65 + shipping is reasonable. It has the TRD air filter in it, which came with the supercharger system.
