I purchased my 2016 Tacoma TRD off road last week and put about 800 miles on it. I've had zero issues with shifting but was still very concerned after reading all the post on here! I took it to the dealership and made up some symptoms that are happening on other tacomas and he gladly agreed to check it. Just picked it up and he said it was a quart low. He topped it off and sent me on my way. Apparently Toyota even knows about this issue if I'm reading the invoice correctly! Absolutely ridiculous! Thanks for those that posted to make more people aware of this!

Is this Stonepony from the MDWFP site? I need to take mine in and get it checked.

Sure is! Small world. I would recommend to get it checked! Too much money invested for the transmission not to be correct!

Very small world. My name on the old site was "Julian." Yeah, I definitely need to get it checked.

Also it was free of charge. Also got my oil changed when I was there and it was free also.

I was the one that killed the monster deer with the Golden Eagle bow. HAHA! Just kidding. I got a nice one a few years ago, but the last few seasons have been tough.

Another small world. I bought my Tacoma from Herrin Gear in Jackson when I had one.

Yes. I always change my oil after the first thousand miles when I buy a new vehicle. Is it a problem?

No just totally unnecessary waste of resources, time and money. Carry on.

Was not a waste to me. If you can't afford an oil change, I would understand. I can afford it and it hairs tees me that there isn't a pile of metal in my oil until the 10000 mile first oil change. If I was worried about the cost of an oil change, probably had no business buying a new truck.

Not to mention I change my own oil and will not be going to dealership to wait all day on oil change. Might as well use them before I loose them!

What one person considers "unnecessary" might give another person peace of mind. Also, time & money are resources, you can just say resources next time.

My toyota dealership checked my ATF fluid recently, service manager stated they use a "vacuum" setup, where the rest of the procedure sounded exactly like what is detailed on the site (as far as temp and overflow process). Anyone elses dealer doing the same?

Mine is currently sitting at the dealership getting checked, along with some other things like the howling TSB, adding some thickness to the window seal, fixing the rocking seat, and fixing my hood scoop. Been there 11 hours and they close in one but haven't heard back yet. Must have kept them busy with it

Mine hesitates to shift every single time it's cold or the first startup in a while. Also hunts like nobody business. I've already put 11,000 miles on it like it is so if it's low, that's how long it's been like that. Build date of 10/15, purchased in December. Hopefully I find out how it is soon.

Edit. They didn't finish today. Looks like I'm keeping the rental then. Hopefully I'll have it back tomorrow with everything fixed.
