Left front wheel well moulding was loose at the front. Inspected it and found the first orange plastic clip had pulled out of the trim.

Bought a new clip and reassembled the trim to the fender. Took a whole 10 minutes including removing the old clip from the fender. Lucky the socket inside the trim piece was not damaged.

Had to go to Toyota San because all the auto part stores did not carry the correct clip.

 

Call me ignorant, but I see nearly every rig that has an aftermarket suspension with new UCAs, but factory LCAs. Are the factory LCAs so beefy that they don't need replaced or is there just not that much torque/stress put on them?

Lol, basically the same answer. In a perfect world yes, replace both. Want travel, replace both. But that's a lot of $$$$ for mall crawlin

 

Cutting corners is no bueno, especially when it comes to upgrading the suspension, etc. Not to mention that why not spend the few extra bucks and do everything, the right way? If I ever upgrade my suspension, I'll make sure I invest fully in it and do it all.

I'm a noobie here but it's very obvious that the number of people who run stock lowers out numbers those who don't by a huge margin. The Tacoma will never be hard core wheeler unless you do major mods like a SAS. I don't see the benefits of replacing stock LCA for the type of wheeling a non SASed Tacoma will/can do.

I used the term losely, I know that. Was just trying to make a point. If you've already spent tons of $$ doing the upgrade correctly, at that point those parts would be a few extra bucks. If you have the money to spend on a "top notch" suspension kit, you should be able to spring a little more for those.

Well... if we get super technical, then yeah, all of that stuff. I'm a noobie as well when it comes to this, so to me it made sense upgrading the LCAs. But I guess like @O906 said, might not be necessary I guess depending on what you're doing with your right.

So my apologies to him for not taking his point into account.

As for the Pro grille... feels FUCKING AWESOME! Used the truck all day Saturday, to haul wood chips back and forth for our yard, and it was out in the clear and for all to see, and the wife saw it and didn't say JACK SHIT about it. So everything is perfect!!!!

 

Mictuning 30" amber/white combo. It's 180 watts I think. Was on Amazon a few months ago. No issues so far.

 

Yeah, I'm a newbie on all levels. I want new uppers, lowers, spindles, the works. But who knows, may just get a big ass spacer lift. JK.

I was just countering that unlike replacing the UCA's replacing LCA's has little benefit for most Tacoma's. At least from all the knowledge I've been absorbing since coming here and after replacing my UCA's and lifting my own Tacoma.

 

LOL! Go big or go home, right??!! Guess I'll have to wait and see as well if I ever get to that point. Been thinking about it, but more as a means of upgrading the ride, not for off roading/wheeling or anything like that. And for when I hook up the trailer as well so the back doesn't "sag" as much.

Definitely loving the shit out of m grille. The next thing I have to do is take it off again and paint the radiator and all that metal stuff with that high temp black paint, so it looks sharper. One day I guess. And hopefully, if I can sell my stock insert and a few other small things, raise some funds to buy the Pro headlights so the monetary hit doesn't feel as hard.

Good point. Sorry for not taking that into account. Noob at this stuff myself so I guess I have a lot of learning/reading to do.
