    None...yet
    Questions

Do you off road ALOT and hard core (ish)?
Is mainly a family vehicle that will occasionally see some minor rough roads, camping style adventures?
Do you prefer fit and finish overall, willing to sacrifice some noises and POSSIBLY quality workmanship over the above 2 questions?

I play devil advocate here....Like I said, all 3 MAJOR home brews had pluses and minuses. As did the 2 major contender so called imports. I personally LOVED my Titan, but gas mileage in it was HORRIBLE, but it sounded frikking AWESOME....and above all and any, rode the best....but was plagued with first year troubles (bad rer ends, transmission issues, a DVD player that chose to quit and NEVER start up again at the worst time in history (sleeping child, suddenly without her blues clues....world went to crap instantly).....

I test drove a Tundra and liked it, was actually planning instead on getting a (what does Toyota call that basically station on stilts thing? A Venza?)....I was gonna get that but man the howling from wind sheer noise....was for me...near deafening. (Sales guys advice....turn up the radio....are you freaking KIDDING me? I had a kid....I wanted silence!!)

Overall, I prefer the Chevy due to its lack of required repairs thus far, it's getting some incredible mileage (with the cylinders deactivated) and it's pretty dang quiet inside and the owner went and got all the goodies with his (upgraded radio and Silverado whatever package they sell now....pretty sad I know, I work there and couldn't tell you what's what anymore)

The ford though, the ford is a beast!!! Off road, it thoroughly SHINES, has had very little trouble and considering the amount of miles we drivers put on our vehicles....it's a stand out in this crowd.

Dodge has the interior, hands down....it's flipping plush as they come....but it's mechanical woes Mars it up pretty badly.

I hope you find that most awesome of vehicles and that it never gives you one iota of trouble.

I had a 07 suburban with active fuel management. When I sold the truck at 110k miles it was consuming a quart of oil every 1k miles. my experience was not unique. No cylinder deactivation ever again. No GM ever again.

Stay with Toyota...4Runner, Tacoma, or Tundra. The rest just don't hold their value as well... and as a service manager I could go on...and on...and on with more reasons. lol

full size, something I can haul stuff with, pull a trailer, but would not fit on any of these offroad trails that the Tacoma barely does.

I know people do it, but I would have zero interest in pulling anything with this truck. It can't get out of its own way let alone pull and handle something behind it.

Elevation doesn't help my case, when it takes WOT to get up the passes on its own while hunting for gears, theres no way I would consider pulling anything up that. Its a good truck for what it is, but its not for everything. IMO

    here's my vote. FORD.
i have done fleet maintenance for 10 years on 150 ford ambulances. we see an average mileage of 80k a year.
they will easily go 300 to 400k on factory drive train with little repair. we overhaul at that mileage to get another 300k before we remove them from service at 600- 700k.

the only reason i own a toyota now is i wanted a small truck. otherwise i would own another F250sd.

I would be hard pressed to leave Toyota. I use to be die hard Chevy but the last 9 years in Toyota's have been to good. My in laws have a new dressed out suburban about a year old now. It's only been to the shop twice so far for warranty fixes. Their dealer says that's good?? Two friends of mine have the f150 eco boost. 13.7 mpg in town and 17.5 mpg highway is what both are getting. Another friend has a 16 gmc 5.3 ecotech , 14.7 in town and 17 mpg highway. Yea the new GM and Ford products are loaded with nice gadgets but those gadgets seem to fail also. Just found out today a co workers GMC with 150,000 highway miles, no towing, guy drives like he is 90 years old and the motor is done. I guess they all make bad ones. I recently test drove a new Tundra and Tacoma, I like both. But the fuel economy of the Tundra will probably keep me in a Tacoma. Lol.. Good luck with what ever you decide and glad to here Toyota bought back your truck. Oh and I have no insight on Ram trucks, nobody I know owns one.

So, what's the story here? Why exactly was the truck having leaf springs replaced? Heavy offroad use and jumping? Are the hangers incorrectly installed? Did OP take a sledge hammer to them?
From what little I have read from the comments, it sounds like fraud was brought up. Am I wrong?

looking for a questionable Lemon Law deal?? supposedly replaced numerous leaf spring bushings?? ive had 4 Toyota trucks all clocked over 200k miles not one ever had bad leaf springs or leaf spring bushings. got a 2013 Tacoma 60k miles leaf spring bushings are fine.

Op drove on a beach in a stock pre runner
    Leaf spring squeeked really loud
Op takes to dealership they replace leaf spring
Op drives 300 miles and it start acting up again
Op posts a video of the squeek after being called a fraud
Op takes it to dealership and they lube it
The professional mechanics on TW say they would be fine with the awful sound on a 30k with less than 5k miles
The professional mechanics also advise op to buy dackers because the multiple stock ones don't work so he should lift it right?
Op says he's gonna pursue lemon law
Professional TW mechanics riot because of blind loyalty to Toyota that they surely didn't do anything wrong and it was all OP's fault

Now Toyota is buying it back so obviously there was something wrong with the truck.

Might have left stuff out but those are the basic cliff notes. You can also interchange professional TW mechanics with professional TW engineers.
