I have a Leer 180, top is higher than yours but if you want I can take some mesurements of my cylinders, compressed and full extend to give you an idea?

With the door close my cylinders are 12.25", full extend with enough clearance for my head (I am 6'2") they are 18". I am a bit far of your 28".... The difference may be where the bottom of the cylindre is fix on the side of the shell...

If anyone needs a CB Antenna mount that works with Shells... hit up @Shmellmopwho for his CB antenna mount. Works great with my SnugTop and looks good too!

Look it over good before they install it. I have found quality control on Leer and ARE leaves a lot to be desired. Much easier to get things taken care of if it hasn't been installed.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but didnt have much luck searching... Will a shell off a 2006 Tacoma with a 5ft bed fit a 2016? Thinking about buying a 2016 this week, but would like to keep my existing shell rather than buy a new one.

As far as I know the Center section "Cab" of the truck went unchanged with exception of the interior. I don't know if the bed dimensions exterior changed or if they left the footprint the same for that very reason.

It may physically go on... But it wouldn't match the lines or height of the truck. And I doubt it would be weatherproof.

I put my 1st gen top on my 2015 to haul down to sell to someone off CL... I got it on there, but it didn't really "fit". It stayed on well enough to make it 20 miles down the interstate at least!

The height of the bed is what I heard, the shell that is put on will sit higher than the cab on a '16

I think the bed is deeper on the 3 gen... So the top would probably be over the cab of the truck. And since the new tailgate has the spoiler, I doubt the rear glass would shut correctly.

Just what I needed to know! Looks like I'll be looking for a new shell with flip up side glass this time though! Thanks!
