No 315/75/r16. I watched Jace crawl up everything I did with his in 285's. Plus these are quieter and have better snow performance.

@TBuzz was very happy with his ST Maxx's and they were hooking up nicely on the slickrock.

Regardless of what you get, 315s will allow you to pass on that turtle badge. :D

I was watching his tires closely...

Wonder how much trimming trouble I'd be in with 315s

Not nearly enough trimming to make you second guess getting real tires.

Enough to make it a lot of fun!
You main problem is your rear bumper will need to be trimmed. That is why I had billy cut mine back 2.5 iches.

Shouldn't be an issue. As you flex the rear my tire moves forward.

But his goes all the way up to the fender line. I don't think he needs to trim that much but some does.

But the axle pivots forward which should allow him to clear it. I would stuff it first before cutting.

As mentioned previously, the Hankook ATMs are a good option for what you are looking for in a tire.

That's a good option too but I don't have any personal experience with that tire.

With inverted shackles, wouldn't the axle move backwards under compression?

It should be moving backward with both inverted and regular shackles because the shackle is the pivot point. I guess what I was seeing when we stuffed my wheels at Rokmen Offroad was simply the position of the tire under the wheel well NOT a function of axle movement.
