Hey guys I am thing about getting the Roll n lock tonneau cover . They have a M - series which is vinyl over aluminum and has been around for a long time . With very good reviews. Now they offer a A - series which is power coated aluminum. I am thinking the A - series would last longer. My question is dos anyone have the A - series and how do you like it and what can you tell me about it ? Trying to decide if it's worth the extra cost.

On my former full size pickup, I ran a Pace Edwards rolling cover. It was vinyl over aluminum.
The good: security - with a locking tailgate it's like having a trunk. Although not completely water proof it did keep out most rain water. Never had a problem with snow loading either. Rolls up regardless of weather or temperature.
The bad: the drum did take up some space in the bed but it wasn't an issue with a full size 8' bed pickup. I didn't get one for the Tacoma because of the drum as the bed (DCSB) is already small. After about 10 years the vinyl delaminated from the aluminum. The drum collects leaves which clogs the drain tubes which will turn to ice in the winter (if your up north) so there's a servicing need. About 5 years after I got it, the rails started to wear a bit making it harder to roll up and I had to keep grease on the track.
    Hope this helps.

I got my RnL used for $100. It was for a long bed so I had to buy new rails. I'd stick with the "M" model as the PC aluminum on the lip and lid have pitted/chipped a bit. The vinyl looks great. I conditioned it when I first got it and it makes a difference. All and all I'm very happy with my RnL. It does take some adjusting if you use your bed a lot. I purchased D-rings for the frame bolts to give me more options.

The RnL looks a million times better than my old 3-section cover and having extra security gives me a warm and fuzzy. I hope this helps.
