Is there any benefit in were you mount a CB antenna? I was thinking of doing a hood antenna mount, or is it smarter to run it in the bed?

In the woods, not really, as long as the top third of whip is over any metal obstruction.
Tuning for direction can be done by placement, but it's really only helpful when you're trying to cover distance like on the highway.
Trees and hills while in the woods offer too much obstruction and scatter for it to be worth while, beside bias on direction your help or who you want to contact will likely be the other

There is " rule of three " I forget the whole deal, it's been awhile
Has to do with cable and wire total length blah blah blah, 3' I think would be the shortest to be effective

That's exactly why I bought this one. But being that it holds I've really well it has turned into the cooler I use for my guys at work.

If your serious I will hold for you and deliver your parts when I come to Wilmington next weekend.

Anyone have a use for a dremel flex shaft? Outer piece only, I broke the inner cable that makes it work.
