My rear tires are miles away from the rear of the fenderwell. They rub the front pretty good though.
In fact, I've wondered if relocating the axle rearwards a bit would make sense at all.

Right now, I'm thinking ST Maxx in 285 (don't want to buy 5 of them, especially if I end up hating them)

Ha ha. I'm coming full circle back to the LTX m/s2s now.

    Here's the train of thought.

I can't just replace the AT that I had so...
I have to do something different.
Something different means I can do anything, like say.... 35s!
35's would require trimming and a cab mount chop. ok, I don't mind trimming I already scrapped my bedsides for the HC rear bumper. I can't weld worth a crap but it wouldn't be too bad to get the cmc done.
35s might require regearing... whoa now, that's a deal breaker right now for me.
Don't want to regear. Especially don't want to pay for regearing.
So we're back down to 33s.
The ST Maxx look interesting, hear lots of good things about them, I may even like them but.... why spend that kind of money on the unknown when I know how great the michelins are?

I looked back through my build thread and saw how many trails I wheeled on the dry rotting old M/S 2s that I got for $100 on craigslist and I had every intention of getting another set when I found out they had the AT2s.

Aside from minor cosmetic changes, I never really could tell the difference between the M/S 2s and the AT 2s, so I just don't know if I can shell out $1k plus for something that may or may not compare to what I already know is great.

Tell me about side wall strength on the M/S 2's. The advanced technology that Cooper has in their side walls help to sell me fast!

Can't. Don't know anything about it other than my experience which has been pretty good.
Obviously I cut a sidewall in moab this year but so did lots of other people. Would whatever happened have sliced another tire's sidewall? Who knows?
Have my tires successfully made it through something that another tire wouldn't have? Again, who knows?
What do you know about cooper's advanced technology?
As "same" as I can but a small difference :D

The only difference between the two Michelin's that I can see is the middle tread of your current one has a single grove with two fingers and the newer one has two groves and three fingers. Everything else looks the same from what I remember.

Yes you guys are right I Love these tires. I have to agree that the Hankook ATMs are great as I have run them in 265 size for a couple years. They are awesome on the road, in snow and on ice...however their sidewalls are thin. Just go to the store and feel the tires yourself. They are really thin. I wouldn't think they'd be a good fit for your application. I just can't imagine a 2 ply sidewall is a good idea. Part if it for me is that I'm not always rock crawling, but I am very frequently on rocky shelf roads. Where if I have a flat and veer off road it could be the end. For that reason alone I will never run a 2 ply sidewall. I am not going to try and say that these tires are as quiet as michelins but they are 10x better than duracraps.

Here's the cooper video that helped sell me.

    That's better. Thanks for that.

I wish there were some sort of "try a tire" program.

Next time ask we could've switched trucks for an obstacle. They don't spin on slick rock unless you're pointed straight in the air like I was in that one spot. That's easily the most I've ever soun my tires by the way.

I've got plenty of vids in all conditions if you ever want to see. I used these at 4 psi in 30" of snow behind my buddy on 39's. These tires are very responsive to air pressure. I'm about to order another set myself.

I was watching your tires pretty closely in Moab. From what I could see, they did seem to perform very well. Is this your first set or have you finished off a set? Miles?

You know you should get the Michelin's again. Otherwise we will not have much to make fun of you for other then your age and height. :D
