Transmission logic update is on the way

This is why I'm glad I don't work customer service. People are inpatient. There's lots more to updating ECT software than a phone app. Even beyond the programming and emissions. Toyota has had many updates for ECT's due to issues. Recently was the torque converter shudder in the 2012-2014 Camry and the 2013 Rav4 that came out about 2 years ago.

They've already addressed an issue the 3-4 flare in 4 cylinder ECT on the 2016 Tacoma, just need to wait until more TSB's are released.

 

Wise man once say, "Never buy first model year of new truck". Grasshopper say, "But I want new truck now". Wise man say, "Patience Grasshopper, patience. That's about the same mileage I'm getting. That's my only complaint with this truck, the mileage is no where near what's stated.

 

I am getting 25 with ethanol free gas. Which is nice.

 

My experience with them has been good so far. They even gave me an extended platinum warranty after my concerns with the trans fluid.

Yep, after some minor inconveniences for me on another matter they gave me a free 100k platinum warranty as well. Amazing what being calm, firm, and respectful will do for you.

 

From Toyota. I opened a ticket with them. I told them all the stuff I have had fixed like the hood vibration, low fluid, and the cold start lag from R to D. I told them I did not buy an extended warranty because of my past experience with Tacomas and that I wish I did. They said they would look into what they could do for me and two days later they called me back and gave me a 100k 7 year platinum warranty with 0 deductible.

Can't beat that imo.
