1995 Totota Tacoma Timing Chain

    Hey guys,

    My mechanic said that I need to replace my timining chaing on my truck. How would I be able to tell if it really needs to be changed? I am right at 300,000 miles on my truck and I haven't changed it since I have owned it, I bought it in 1997.

    I have read several places where they say the timing chain can last the life of the vehicle but if it does break it can cause major damage. :eek:

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    Pull the valve cover and inspect the chain sprockets. If they are wore, then I would suggest changing it.
