I purchased a new 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road in January. Unfortunately it is afflicted with the delayed-engagement transmission problem.

I've been eyeing a lift ever since. I'd like to go two or three inches, and up the tire size. Unfortunately I am afraid to do it until Toyota fixes the transmission (which they don't even acknowledge as a problem), because I don't want them to blame the transmission problems on over-sized tires or lift kits.

    Here's some pictures of it.[IMG]

One thing I am thinking I will for sure do soon is change out the step bars. I am not a big fan of these stock bars at all. I wanted the Raptor bars but they didn't have them in the loadout that I wanted. Maybe someone wants to trade!? :)

Great looking truck! I am having the same exact problem with the transmission and it is quite frustrating.

@mike5906 , I read a few of your articles on Geek Pub and think its great that you are spearheading this issue with Toyota. I have a line on a 2016 OR I am planning on purchasing at the end of the month. With all the positives and negatives in mind, would you still recommend purchasing this truck? Overall are you still satisfied with your purchase?

I do love the truck. I'd be perfectly happy with it if it weren't for this problem and how they've handled it (ignoring it).

I just got a Sport and although it shifts between reverse and drive just fine, it has a tendency to want to downshift more often than not. I'm assuming that's normal? lol

Did you buy the truck at Freeman? Have you tried to get this fixed at Grapevine?

Sorry to hear about the late delivery, do you have any plans for the future on it in the works?

Has the issues with trans and diff on the 2016 been fixed from Toyota?
