The Stealer took a bite outa my Taco Fund. Driver Rear axle bearings and seals etc, rear brk shoes, cracked air intake hose replaced, fluids flushed (dirty/contaminated), oil change etc, nail in tire repaired.....$1100. Wouldn't take the chance of doing the axle myself with a day job and all (They fix it if it's not right), "it's still cheaper than a new truck payment" at least that's what gets me thru the pain...

Twin and triple sticks are two different things, you twin stick a single transfer case, a triple or 3rd shifter is added when you have dual transfer cases. The shifters let you shift 2wd/4wd independent of hi/lo so you can get 2wd/lo something you can't get otherwise. When you add the second case and shifter you can go lo/lo. To things like 2wd/lo/lo or 4wd/lo/hi are possibly and any combination inbetween, you are not bound to just simply hi/lo 4wd anymore. I think some would argue it affects the entire rotating mass of the drivetrain with 2 cases so it could slow you down a bit. I have also read a lot that have the lower 4.7 gears in the transfer case are not good for freeway driving, they create a lot more heat. Those that have them will swear they are fine for freeway driving. I don't I went with 2.28s in my front case, stock j shift rear case and a triple stick setup.

Hate on the 5vzfe? One of the best Toyota and light truck engines ever made. Impressive. Looks good.

You know, you could get some spacers that would technically convert your truck to that 5 lug pattern.

    Edit: *Possibly.

Only reason I go to pirate is to check the classifieds for:

    1. Insane pricing
    2. Stupid vehicles modded for no reason
    3. Stupid vehicles modded for no reason at insane prices...

    So, there's that.

There's lots (I mean LOTS) of great info on Pirate but you gotta piece it all together yourself.

I'm sure there is. But if I'm gonna piece it all together myself, why waste time on the internet when I can just go do it, and piece it all together myself? lol.

Cause if you search first you can save yourself from making dumb costly mistakes or spending money on something that someone with prior knowledge knows how to mod to fit your needs. Pirate is just a place you can't ask dumb questions on, it is for the hardcore in depth stuff not "how do I change my fuel filter cause my battery keeps going ded".
