So, I'm in the Austin area, and the closest dealer has literally no Tacos. They said it's been difficult to keep up with demand. Dealers that are a bit of a drive away have one or two off-roads, which is what I'm looking at. Under these circumstances, I assume I don't really have much negotiation room, and I should probably just pony up what they're asking. Thoughts? Thanks.

They have to drive one in from 200 miles away for me, and I still paid invoice.

    You can get a deal.

There's always negotiating room. Will they discount it as much as something that's been on their lot for a month or two? Probably not. But you should still be able to get them down a good bit below MSRP no problem.

Also if they aren't willing to deal on the price of the truck as much you can try to get them to throw in upgrades, extended warranty, etc.

Try Jeff Hunter in Waco. They had 6 yesterday. I give them the eyeball daily. My wife got a 2016 Rav4 there two weeks ago or I would be in a new Tacoma by now. Good luck, they damn sure don't keep them for very long.

I'm in Houston and when looking on Cars.com and Listingallcars.com I did a search up to 200 miles out. I found there was better selection to the west and north of me. Maybe try those sites and search in a larger radius. Also, the dealer should be able to find you what you want. Check out the Costco pricing, my sticker was just over 36K and I got mine for right at 33K. Good luck.

My wife contacted 25 dealers via email with our specs.... We drove 160 miles (one way) to buy the truck. We got a good deal.

What are you looking for? If you want a Limited, they are all over Texas and Oklahoma in every color.

Like others mentioned look around, dealers in the NE are plenty stocked and motivated to sell, I received a quote below invoice the other day.

Plenty on the lots here in AZ. The dealers here can get you close to invoice if not at invoice.

Anyone in CA able to get a good deal? I've contacted about 10 dealerships and the best deal I've heard so far is $750 off MSRP.

Many folks here who are in CA and ordered or purchased have gone out of state to get good deals. @lotuscupcar went to oregon for instance. @shadowkhan I believe went to AZ

    Yup

Not paying money to CA dealers
    Not worth it

    OR was invoice +$300
    No doc fee
    Exactly ordered what I wanted

Plane ticket + drive back or $550 for shipping

I am going to drive it back

I enjoy your posts, your level headed unlike a lot of people here and not one sided, provide good advice, etc.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll compare the price difference in Oregon, I've got family up there so I might just make a trip out of it.

Yes that's correct @smitty99 I did go to AZ.

Took the last flight out of SoCal that night and met my salesman. He's a member on here @Letsgoplaces. He can definitely find you the truck you're looking for. He found mine in Utah, worked his magic and had it transported to his dealer. I spent months trying to find a TRD sport in barcelona red in CA and they were just trying to get more money out of me. As much money we're all willing to spend on these trucks I don't think anyone should settle on anything.

He just told me he has a decent amount of inventory coming in. Give him a call. Take a road trip haha 480-635-2451 his name is Chris tell him Khan sent you. Good luck
