Hey not sure if you have already purchased, but you have a similar needs to me and i went with a softopper first off its half the cost and because its retractable you can keep it on year round and still haul things that require an open bed. Like a dirtbike I also like it because it will close up with a bed mat on. here are some pictures of my uses.IMG_2756.jpg IMG_2765.jpg IMG_2912.jpg IMG_2980.jpg

Nice to see. I think I could probably sleep in a 5 foot bed pretty easily (I am 5'10''). I usually sleep in a fetal position as it is. Could stretch out diagonally too.

My wife and I are looking at these. Can you explain how the back window stays down? Their website says something about Velcro. For some reason I pictured it on the tailgate, but I don't see that on yours.

Look at a rat rack, they are out of Calgary, or sold there and there are many others like it. Attaches to the tow hitch and hangs the bikes vertically, behind the truck.

    looks like this

Yea you can use velcro to get the very end flap to sit tight against the truck. But it comes with a bar that slides through the bottom of the flap through a sleeve. That clips into the railing that is attached to the truck. I kept the velcro off for my needs and it seems to be great!

Yep I'm 6' and i sleep slightly bent also keep in mind with 1 or 2 pillows down it actually pulls your head and neck up giving you more length also if you get cramped i put my legs up against the tailgate and that allows me to extend fully.

So it doesn't touch the paint? Good to know. We aren't planning on keeping it on all of the time. I hated the idea of having that Velcro strip her truck all of the time.

Yes, actually there is a way to reverse the bar on the tale gait flap so it opens a big crack but the rain would not come in.

    Looks great!

Does the fabric flap contact the painted area of the tailgate?
Could the top be mounted a bit more towards the front of the bed, shortening the length of the flap's overlap?

Bought a Leer 100r. Leaks at the front corners and the underside of the carpet gets wet on the rails toward the back ( closer to tailgate). Not excited about driving 1.5 hours back to get it fixed.

And the paint match on my MGM is ok but not great. The topper is darker than the truck.
