hey i have a 2008 trd taco with about 45000 miles on it toyota says that the factory warenty has run out cause of milage but i also have the 100,000mile warenty but apparently that doesnt cover the tsb so my grandfather and dad have been dealing with this since i am deployed and i guess the best that toyota would do is charge me about 250-300 for labor and parts would be free which to me is fucking crazy for something that is known to be a problem for years and is still commin out on the assembly line with this problem any advise or other customers that have been dicked around

Get an AAL from someone else... Since you are out of warranty it is not worth it.

If they are only going to charge you 250-300- You can either pay it and get the springs for free (considering invoice for this work is about 1600 total). Or get a replacement leaf pack completely. Have you lifted/are you thinking about it??

PS- It's a only a problem in some peoples eyes- Lots of others like the ride those more compliant rear springs provide.

My truck (09) was new and they play the same game for months. One day I pull inside dealer parking, lifted the truck, remove the back(one) wheel and asked the service adv to take a look at my springs with two guys seating in the bed. At that time he really have no comment.
In your case,, if they are willing to give you the parts for free ??? but with out having them installed them ?? Take them and install them your self when you come home. Two hours the most with the help of a friend. You may need an alignement after ($80-100) the most.

Ps. Thank you for all the sacrifice you guys are making for us.Merry Christmas to you and all the guys that are spending the Holidays away from theirs family.

when I bought my used truck it had 53k miles on it. I bought an extended warranty from them and I was told later that I also am not covered for the TSB because the truck is over 36k even with the extended warranty. I asked if I would have a problem not fixing it and he said if its just an everday weekend hardware store truck dont worry about it, it wont harm a thing.

    ^^^^ Technical Service Bulletin...................

They won't do it for free after the 3 yr/36k manufacturer warranty.......

Those 3 leaf springs suck ass! The truck corners like shit unloaded, much less loaded & dangerous when not driving in a straight line or when cornering beyond 5 mph on anything not perfectly smooth. If over 36k with 3 leafs, just get an AAL whether it lifts or not....until you have 1G to fork out for some good 4 leaf aftermarket ones.

I'm sure you can, one way or another. Was just guessing, point was an AAL will firm it up just fine for anything short of racing or jumping. If new ones are anything over 500 then tax & shipping will push it further towards what I threw out.
