I have this weird nudge or stutter feeling in my tacoma right before I come to a stop and right when I start from a stop. I feel it right before my momentum is completely exhausted. For awhile, I thought it might be my brakes clinching, but they are good to go. I'm beginning to think it may be one of my u-joints going bad or could it be a bearing going out? I noticed that I'm starting to hear some of my bearings at low speeds (just had the left rear replaced). Yes I do take care of my taco. But I bought it at 115,000 and it now has about 122,000. I have greased the zerks since owning it. It's an auto and a 4x4. What say you?

It feels like it's somewhere in the drivetrain and seems unrelated to my engine idling.

    Mine does the same.

I'm thinking it's the slip joke just needs greased.

It could also be the last gear shift too. Mine does (based on the discription) the same thing.

I did some research, and I found that it's either the slip yoke like you said or it's the leaf springs "fanning out" as the transmission down shifts and puts reverse torque on the drive shaft. Somebody said clamping about 6" in front of the axle on both sides on the leafs with stop this.

the main reason I think mine is the slip yoke is because it's unnoticed in the winter but once it gets over 60 degrees it comes back.

I wouldn't think temp would matter for leaf springs. I'm curious if anything changes when I get mine replaced.

I bet it's this. The time of year is right for threads about this to start popping up.

OP - If you are feeling a nudge after you've come to a stop, and the AC is on, what you're feeling is a minor shift in the driveline because the AC compressor load. Nothing to worry about.

I never run the AC, that costs money. It's something in the drive train, I'm 100% on that.

lol technically you're right, but I just thought you would want to be comfortable in your own vehicle, rather than worrying about the pennies that your saving by not running the AC. To each his own i guess.

Anyways.... I know it's not the AC, its somewhere in the drive line or in the suspension.

He doesn't have a fuel tank, it weighs his truck down too much... (sorry, had to)

Honestly OP, i just put a lift on my truck last weekend and I have a minor shudder when coming to a complete stop as well. Is your truck lifted?

No, but I was about to do the 3"/2" leveling kit. The issue with the slip yoke makes sense to me. This truck was kept by the guy in Alberta then Washington St. That moist climate is probably why I'm finding that the driveshaft(s) and bearings are having lubrication issues.
