Yeah the spot we fish is like 2-3 miles down from the dam. We just go up towards the dam and troll down for about 5-6 hrs and wear the bass out. There's tons of good riding dirtroads around there. There is one that we used to ride a lot that 4wd was an absolute must, but the county flattened it :pout:

We would put in at the dam and float down to where your talking about and pull the canoe up the bank to another truck.... Just before the heavy rapids. Have you been out there since they started the tubing feature? I'm wondering how much traffic it drew in? I don't like for there to be a lot of ppl! Lol! Might ride down that way this weekend. Its not but 45 minutes or so from the house.

As a Butts Countian who's fished there forever, I hate it. I don't think they're doing it this year. I hate seeing people out there. It's one of the locals' best kept secrets. We usually get out there at like 6am, so by the time all the idiots start making their way down, we're leaving. If they didn't trash the place and act like they were at Panama City, I wouldn't care.

Let me know next time you go and I'll ride down. We've got 3-4 spots we ride down to get to the river, depended on how "alone" we wanna be. There's a few spots no one knows about that are perfect for camping, but we've also got the big spots we go to party lol.

Precisely why I asked! Loud mouthed parents, squealing and screaming kids, and the trash! I could possibly tolerate the people and their noise if they would just take their damn trash with them. I pick up trash everywhere I go. I quit going to off road parks b/c of the trash! I don't want my son around the mostly drunk, no helmet wearing, property, destroying idiots that were usually there. One park was soon bad. All the trails were lined with beer cans and bottles, and it smelled of spoiled beer and piss. I have a natural compulsion to leave a better place than I found. That place just hurt my feelings. Lol!
Anyway, apologies to all for the rant! I do not have anything against beer drinkers or off roading. One day I will be able to build my own rig. I just like to see nature appreciated and not abused. Enjoyed not destroyed!
But yeah, I'm thinking of hitting some of the dirt roads down there Saturday morning with my son. Maybe scout out some trails and falls to exercise the dogs on. The wife has taken a liking to hanging at the river!

Has anyone here ever been to Windrock ohv in Oak Ridge, TN? There is an unbelievable amount of trails of all levels of difficulty.

Don't have a point, just curious.

My wife rented us 4 wheelers for my birthday a few years ago and we spent the weekend wheeling.... the place is huge. We spent 18 hrs on the trails and didn't see but a fragment. Found a really cool wind farm that was unusually calming. Lol. We definitely need to plan a three day weekend with a few folks. My truck is stock and a dd, but I can drag my Suzuki(purchased shortly after our visit) up there again!
There is something up there for everyone. It would be hard to have a bad time... even with my luck! Lol!

Been, went to the Toyota Round UP when they hosted it there last year. Its got a TON to offer but you will get pin stripes all along your ride, just be warned. Fun place, cool waterfall we found randomly and great scenery. I would go back.

    This was out there

Finally, all done. I added "pocket" type things on the back to keep random stuff like maps or whatever (left the bottoms open so water could drain out if needed).
Fun project, but glad its done haha

    Thanks!

The only piece that drew/warped was the leading triangle panel, since it was only welded on the top and side (the front is open since there is no material to tack it to). None of the other panels per door warped, surprisingly with my lack of experience. I made sure I had all 4 corners down first and then work mostly center then outward to keep it all going toward the corners, and no issues.

If I had not learned this lesson the hard way, I would have done a lot less work initially on the leading triangle and took more breaks on it to cool. BUT it drove home a lesson that I wont forget, which is part of doing this stuff and starting out.
