Did you try jumping it after you messed with the starter? I know last Saturday I was changing mine out cause I thought it was bad and after putting in the new one, for some reason there wasn't enough power to crank the starter. Everything else electronic wise came on though. I decided to try jumping cause WTH why not and after hooking it up, when I went to turn the key the starter started to crank and so did the motor then the truck started. My battery was good too so I don't know why it needed the jump. Had the battery tested before and after that Dayana every place I went to said the battery was healthy and fully charged. Try jumping and see if that changes anything then if it starts, run it for a lil bit, disconnect the jump, then try shutting it off and then back on to see if it starts on its own. Also once it's running try to get your hands on a voltmeter to test the charging system and your battery. I believe when running you should be getting about 14.5ish volts to the battery if the charging system works.

Since its worse now that you worked on it, you may have done something wrong.
Did you remember to re-connect both wires to the starter?
