Supposedly. The real question is it going to be a worthless JK8 style baby jeep or close to the AEV one. I would kill for an xtra cab with a usable bed.

Put a set of reasonable wheels and tires on it, and I'd rock that as a daily driver!

    Hey everyone.

Tomorrow I will be driving on a beach for the first time in my tacoma. It's something that I've always wanted to do and I'm very excited. I have all the essentials....

    -pressure gauge
    -air down gauge
    -compressor
    -recovery strap
    -two way radio
    -D-Link and shackle
    -Jack stand/Jack
    -fire extinguisher
    -first aid kit
    -flashlight
    -girlfriend

I have most of these things because they are required, I'm going to East Beach in Charlestown Rhode Island.

Any recommendations on how to avoid getting stuck? I won't be with anyone else who has a 4x4.

How well, or not do BFG KO2's perform in the sand? I'll be airing down to 15 PSI as I've read that's the standard.

It would definitely be a shit show if I got stuck with no one to pull me out, but whatever happens, happens

I would definitely bring a shovel and a piece of wood.. Just something to shove under the tire for traction.

Got around to sand blasting and priming my rear bumper. It's been bare metal since I built it a few years ago... This is the first time any sort of paint has touched its surface...

    Now for some black paint.

Paul just go easy . East Beach is probably like any other ORV beach with a speed limit. Stay in the tire tracks of everyone else. Get on the pedal only when your pulling off that main travel path.
I go to Sandy Neck on Cape its a blast.

My truck is trying its best to see if I will drive it off a cliff! Rear axle seal went and the bearing seems toast. Going to put a new seal in just to see how much more time I can get out of it. New bearing is going to be about $400 with labor, I can't find a decent shaft around here anywhere with a bearing on it.

Go with the Marlin Eco seals. Way better than stock. Also, I have the half axle so if you need to do a bearing hit me up.

I have a few stock ones lying around. If I have to order one I'll get Marlin., I think the bearing is the issue that made the seal leak. If I need it I'll buy the 4Runner axle off the guy on NTC. I did the shaft last time dude it sucked so bad I would rather pay the machine shop. The tone ring sucked.

    I'm a Masshole
    Vehicle:
    2016 TRD Off-Road 6MT / 2021 WRX STI
    Building a Broja
My 2013 was my first automatic vehicle ever. At the time, it made perfect sense. My (now) wife cannot drive manual, and neither can my Mom. At the time we were living in an apartment and my wife had a 2-door so whenever we went on a road trip, we'd borrow my Mom's CUV and I'd leave my truck in case there was an emergency.

However, after running into all of the issues the Tacoma automatics seemed to have (the 5th gear clunk, constant into and out of TC lockup with the active braking, etc.) and having a transmission replaced under warranty to remedy those issues, only to have them come right back, I was all set. Plus, the 3G trucks aren't getting stellar reviews for their AT shift programming. It's bad when even one of the major mags (Car and Driver) noted the issues they found. That's why the 2016 I just ordered is a 6MT. I haven't even driven a 3G yet, let alone a MT 3G and I was confident that the 6MT was the way to go for that one. Then again, the cab is basically the same as the 2G and I drove Cam's 6MT around the block and the shift action was basically what I was expecting, so it will be perfect.

I've aired down as far as 10 PSI on my ATs. 15 is a good start, but you can go lower if need be. I got stuck in sand once with my Xtracab. The only reason why I did was my well meaning, but not mechanically inclined friend offered to lock my passenger side hub for me and didn't twist it far enough to engage it. Thus I hit sugar sand in 2WD which got my stuck pretty well. The new trucks have auto front diffs, so that's a non-issue.

The one thing you'll want is a nail that has a head smaller than the inside of the Schrader valve on the tire. That way you can easily depress the valve and hold it so you can air down.

The other thing is if you start to get stuck moving forward, don't goose it. Put it in reverse and ease yourself out backwards. Momentum is your friend.

    EDIT:

I replicated the "In the Air Tonight" scene from Miami Vice in the Vette tonight. I'm a huge dork, but it was pretty awesome.
