Did a search and didn't find much of pics or info on the Fox lifts in TW.
I just purchased a Fox stage 2 setup from Headstrong and will be putting it on as soon as I get my truck in a few weeks. Post pics if you got them and please list your specs/what model shocks you got.

Just got my Fox Stage 2 lift from Headstrong in. I still don't have my truck but I'm accumulating goodies. I'll post pics as soon as I get it on.

    ^ very nice!
Did you go with the extended travel (0-3")?
have you considered adding a 1/4" lean spacer for the drivers side?(so you don't have to crank the coil up to compensate).
I am waiting on my FOX Stage2 to ship..
Keeping your factory overload with the AAL?

^Yes I went with the extended travel.
I'll probably just use the coilovers to adjust for the lean...should be ok.
And yes I'm definitely leaving the overload in. Supposedly leaving it in will give you the full 2" of lift in the rear.
Now I just have to purchase the damn wrenches. I just found that I think I need two. One for the preload and one for the backup.
Looks like it'll run.me 50 bucks a piece. Lol. Total rip off.
Did you buy the wrenches also?

I am leaving the overload in as well. SHOULD get a full 2". Yes, I purchased a Fox 2.5 wrench from Wheelers (part # 803-00-732).
Too expensive IMO, but I'd rather not mar up brand new coils. Wish there was a cheaper 3rd party alternative. I wasn't aware of needing 2 wrenches? Can anyone else confirm???

Were these valved specifically for the third gen or are vendors just selling 2nd gen stuff for the 3rd gen?

The Fox part numbers I purchased are for 2005-2016. They did add 2016 to the line up.
I don't have a problem with that as alot of fox parts are cross platform like the rear shocks are for 4runner, FJ, and tacoma and the front coils are for the same.

So that seems that they're dampers valved for a 2nd gen and then sold for the third gen, so not actually designed properly for the additional weight of the third gen. I don't know if them being sold for the third gen is approved by Fox, or just done so by the vendors because they happen to fit. I also don't really know if it matters all that much, or if the engineer in me is just being a bit nit-picky about details ... so feel free to ignore my ramblings.

The part numbers associated with the 2016 has been approved by Fox per their website...not just through the vendors.
I see what your saying though. Spring rate and valving along with other factors should come into play with a new platform. But.. all vendors are on the same page saying the geometry is pretty much the same from 2005-2016. So we'll see.

Yea, I'm not sweating it, just making some observations ... i'm sure they're still 100x better than the factory shit :)

Omg...just want to input this for reference.
The Fox level 2 kit from Headstrong is a true winner. I just got the kit installed at my local 4 wheeler shop. I could not be happier with the ride, the lift and the results as a whole.
We did the headstrong 3 leaf aal with overload left in.
Again for reference, the fox 2.5 coilover extended can be adjusted on the truck with all load off the spring. The shop did have a spanner wrench on hand (saved me some cash there). I've already tested the truck over speed bumps at full speed and the truck rolls them like they're not even there. Can't think of much else I'll update this post as needed if there's any questions. Pics to come.

Phone pics for now. Pics don't do the truck any justice. Taco definetely sits higher than it looks in the pics. Can't believe it's only a 3" lift. A 6" would be crazy.
