game was alright kinda lame imho, refs always and forever with their questionable calls, usa celebrated a bit much if you ask me for beating costa rica, simply not a fan of their game and I see them going nowhere realistically, lets be real that stiff arm that led into the second usa point was pretty fauly and went unjustifiably uncalled... usa probably faces ecuador or brazil in the quarters, assuming they hold second place in their group. The uruguayan coach had shared some nice personal opinions, anyone catch that? So many arguable points, soccer and politics piss me off...

The final is being played not too far away from here in NJ metlife stadium but ticket prices are stupid $$ makes trd pro grill look cheap.

 

DVR'ed the game, watched the 1st half and then fell asleep watching the second. By the time I woke up it was over so I said fuck it and didn't try to watch it. Saw the score this morning. 4-0. Guess the second half wasn't as "fun" as the 1st. Also saw Columbia won. That stiff arm/elbow was a foul, but to be honest the Tico player embellished it a lot, so that's probably why he didn't get the call. Paraguay is weak, so the US should hold on to 2nd place. But don't see them going anywhere after the first knock out round.

What did the Uruguayan coach say? Didn't see anything about that.

And no kidding about tix prices. I'm not too far from Metlife Stadium either, and my buddy at work is Colombian so we started looking into games and tix prices. FML. They are driving the fans away from the sport with those prices. I coughed up $$ for a Pro grille, and it wasn't cheap, but those tix make it look cheap.

 

I haven't read what the Uriguayan coach said, but the president of the Uruguayan Federation had some nasty words for the organizers of the event and for Conmebol accepting to play Copa America in the US and not in South America

This Copa America Centanario is only for $$, but still should have been played in South America and not in the US
The real Compa America was played last year in Chile, and Chile was the champion.

I get that they invite a few countries to have more teams, and even numbers because of the groups, but why does that give any of those countries the ability to host it?

If I'm not mistaken this is the first year the US has been invited to Copa America, it's usually Mexico and Costa Rica from Concacaf

 

I think they were invited a few years ago... can't remember the year, but they were there.

Uruguay just lost to Venezuela and is out of Copa America.... I wasn't expecting Uruguay out in the first round
