    Hi guys

I'm a bit new here too but i had a question in regards to tacoma forums. I come from the sports car segment and there aren't that many different car forums for a one specific car, where for the Tacoma, there are many different car forums all popular for this one truck.

My question is, why choose Tacoma World vs other Tacoma forums?

Just a curious question from my end. Not trying to incite a riot. :)

This is the first one I stumbled upon and found it was very active so that's why I chose to stay. Nothing worse than being on a forum that's not very active and you have to wait forever for responses. Also seems to be a very civil forum too not much BS.

    1st off... WELCOME TO TW!!!

Thats why. we are a little more welcoming around here I like to think. People around here are willing to help and enjoy racing to see who can answer a problem the fastest. occasionally you'll find someone bitching at you to search first if you ask a question that there is already a thread for and so on and so forth. but they just arent familiar with the TW atmospherics:) we all have grown to love.

Oh and we have Chris4x4 here...i think he can answer almost anything.

You spoke of sports cars but do you own a Taco or are you thinking of getting one?

I'm like jtav2002 this was just the first one I found and it turned out that someone on here has tried or thought of just about every mod you can think of and can offer advise on the best way to do it. I'm also a member of customtacos.com because there are more people with a 5-lug trucks like mine.

I love it here... same as above. I found this one first and I am a member of some other forums for other rigs that suggested this one. Love the guys here and consider them like a second family. I lurk a lot and I can usually find any answers I may have with a simple search, otherwise it's easy to post up a new thread and hear the responses... :) BTW welcome to the board...

The people are nicer and dont yell at you to go search.
    I love this place.
I went to ttora for a day.
    Didnt like it.
    The atmosphere was just wtf.
This place is cheerful and the mods are actually fair and arent biased to one side.

    It all depends on YOU

Forums are like car clubs. They all have different personalities.

You have to experience each one to find out if you like them or not. Sometimes they're great when you first get hooked, but over the years...they change and its time to move on to something different.

I've belonged to A LOT of tacoma forums since 1999. Tacomas were new back then and I was 10 years younger. Not as many forums back then as there are now. Over the years, the more popular the forums get....the more negative 'attitude' there is amoungest the threads/posts.

This forum has less negative attitude and the moderators (and fellow forum members) help police that and keep it low-key and relaxing. Once that negative attitude gets in.....it's really hard to enjoy a forum. You really gotta police that kinda thing.

So, stick around....hang out....and see if this forum is something you'll enjoy coming back to.

TW to me is like a meld of many different types of owners. All ages, all walks of life, and all different uses for the taco. Other forums seem to specialize like crawling, or being Canadian, etc. What is really cool is where there is a diverse group here, the ideas and help never ends. Post a question and minutes later someone responds.

Lastly, something I haven't seen (at least out of control) is board politics - there really isn't any. The mods do a good job of keeping the peace without choking off free speech. Not an easy task to keep up with on a board as busy as TW is. Hats off to them.

    Later and welcome!
