Hahaha these comments were GOLD to come back to.

Replaced the fuse. Truck is now mobile again.

Will only plug in gauge cluster when unit is off. Lesson learned.

    Thanks guys!!

Something else had to have happened. Clusters draw like .3 amps at most.. with the illumination turned off. Plugging something in does not causes fuses to blow unless that something draws more current at startup than the fuse is rated for. A cluster is not blowing an ignition fuse unless there was a short. I *think* an ignition circuit might run to the cluster, but I havent looked at the diagrams in a while.

Well, it happened while the vehicle was running..

If it happens again I'll do some more digging.

Try cleaning your connections to the battery and grounds. This happened to me and that was an easy fix

Two wires touching together or a wire touching ground are likely causes. Make sure everything is taped up well.

It happens. I blew the ECU fuse on my GFs camry while hooking up a homelink mirror.

The lesson here is not to have stuff running when dinking with significant wiring.

Better yet, pull the ground off the battery and have no risk at all.

    Saves a lot of headaches.
