Like @jberry813 said, he bought something cheaper but then spent a lot of money making it right. Probably as much money as the custom pack, but way more time... The way I see it, my time is important and I can usually make more money in an hour then I can save doing something that I am not a pro at. So it usually works out to pay the pro for the good stuff the first time!

I weighed mine at a moving company, they had a scale in their parking lot and I was able to set each corner on the scale then front axle / rear axle. They charged me $10 the first time but did it for free the next time. Just don't forget to subtract the weight of your axle and wheels/tires from the rear end weight...anyone you order a custom pack from will probably walk you through that.

Yup. I got a quote for a custom pack from Deaver when I got my 50T pack. That was about 4 years ago...and it was going to be an even $1000. And that was a repeat customer discount kind of situation. It's definitely more, but you get what you need.

If your going to pay the custom price, don't skimp on $40 getting various weights. I can't express enough how important good weights are for them.

There are more scales than you know in town, you just don't realize it. The dump, places that recycle more than cans, scales on the highway, Loves gas stations, everywhere!

You know I thought about that for a long time and I was going to build my own arms and now looking at the price for all of this is doesn't seem like a bad idea cause I was going to do the spring for temporary use until I linked but maybe I'll just build everything with all the stock parts on since it's still my DD and then throw the link on with a tundra axle.

This. I got mine corner weighted at a local rock landscape place. 10 bucks and they now let me use the scale whenever I want.

A good place for a scale is a quarry or place that sells rock for landscaping. My 1st gen came in at 3800lbs. Empty was 4220 but we had 2 of us in the cab so minus 400lbs.

What's a good length to buy for rear straps. I'm getting kartek to match my fronts and I know each application is different. I have a f67 pack on a 1st gen. Anybody have a decent number. Like 22" or so? I mean I can always angle them a bit to account for any slack. Or would my best bet be to droop it out and measure? (Obviously right)

I was really considering to go links since I found out fuel cells are street legal here. But after talking to Cliff in Moab I'm going back to the spring route. Time to stop over thinking it and listen to the guys that been there and done it.

I had to have my leaf pack custom built by deaver, best bet is to weigh the truck, estimate any crap you'll have in it and go to them with the weight and what you need the pack to do. Their customer service is top notch. However I do wish I had them make a driver side specific leaf pack, as I still get the Taco lean.

FYI last time my truck was weighed it was 5900lbs! haven't had it done since the changes.

Unless you need to carry heavy loads or tow I wouldn't hesitate to link it.

I don't have to think twice about my rear end, it's miles ahead of the front and everyone who rode in it at the superstition meet was impressed with the ride. And that was before I added bypasses.

It rides cholo low with 2 dirt bikes, gear and gas (350 over 450lb springs)

Worst part is you start pushing it fast and reeeaaally should have a cage (especially if you tend to get carried away like I do...)
