At time of incident. 199,333 actual. I bought it used, no idea what previous owner had done. Guessing not a whole lot. Gauging from all I have put in thus far......

I am taking the truck back to shop to get the other side done as well as tops on both sides and realigned (again)....also plan on having brake calipers rebuilt or replaced....peace of mind and a entire system flushed along with P/S. My steering today, was light and easy, no weird whines or anything. In fact it sounds and acts no differently than when the incident occurred (other than I know for a fact the ball joint is good)

Also bear in mind, I use my vehicle for work also every day, driving couple hundred miles per day. I also bought this at night, after a accident I just went through (in a perfect running vehicle) (not my fault)

If I had had more time, I would have passed on this, or if I could have seen during the day hours....or at the least, payed WAAAAAY less.

Shit happens.....I could have maybe passed on so much so fast....but whaddya do? Ain't no use crying about it or getting mad....it happens, it happened...and now it's repaired.....and life, like always, kept on moving on....just as I am

(I strive real hard to keep positive these days....not always successful, but I sure do try)

Hmmm. Just broke 201,000 miles on mine, wondering if I shouldn't just replace them and avoid the heartache. I can get OEM Sankeis for about $100 each on PartsGeek.

Previous owner took mine in for recall around 68k. I now have about 170k. I get very nervous about the LBJ also. Every now and then I jack up the truck and stick pry bar in there to see if there is any movement. also keep an eye on for grease. wondering if I should change out the LBJs.

Just put a jack under the LBJ on either side and jack the tire a few inches off the ground. Now put a lever (jack handle, 2X4, crowbar)of some sort under the tire and work the tire up & down. If you have any slack in BJ, you will notice it by the movement in the wheel.

The shop that repaired the drivers side said there is MINOR play in drivers. I was running a bit broke when this happened (just spent 2 weeks off, unpaid, after spending $1485 getting transmission rebuilt....so I have a tough couple of months coming up.)

They have ALL been replaced now (finally got A paycheck...not a full one, but screw it, my life and anybody else around me, means more than a few bucks.

I drive ALOT, upwards of close to a 900 miles a week (150-200 per day)....I take extreme care of my vehicles. I generally don't use shops, in the shop I went to was quite surprised when I said I wanted them to do the work, since they know I do my own usually.

(Side note, I won't be doing ANY work on it for a bit, stupid me went digging around in a junkyard and I stupidly let my tool outta my sight, and they got stolen. Not some huge high dollar kit, but still.....that sucks....but hey! Excuse to buy new ones!!)
