151.625 is safe and one of the legal ones to broadcast without a license

Actually it depends on your radio now that I looked since these cheap baofengs have low frequency its not required a fcc license.
now a more expensive high power radio could get you talking to people in Australia that requires license

 

So as long as we are only transmitting on the 151.625 low power than we're good?

Basically this, and I'd agree with you guys: we aren't stepping on toes or preaching jihad. We're laughing and bullshitting about caves and trying to not have to stop every 10 feet to communicate.

I did some research and it looks like we have five murs channels we can use without FCC lic.

I tried them and they work on my radios!

Yeah, this is almost discouraging.

Reading all this ish makes me feel like I'm back in school.

However, I dig the idea of always having a line of communication available if... ZOMBIES!!!

So maybe I'll see about buying a book and getting licensed.

On the same topic. After reading the thread that @digitaLbraVo shared, should we be using one of those lower channels that are in fact "free and clear"? Or do they suck, so that's why we don't?

Just did a coolant flush this afternoon, hoping it'll take care of the slight overheating I get when I run my AC while crawling in 4wd...noticed it when we were on the Miller Jeep trail a couple weeks ago. It's either that or I'm looking at replacing the electric fans I've got with the stock fan clutch. Will find out tomorrow
