Got a few buddies who are spending the next couple nights out by Silverwood Lake. I'll be joining them come Saturday morning and I was wondering if there are any easy trails out there?

It'll just be me in my locked prerunner, so something like a fire road would be best. I see that the east end of Cleghorn runs right into that area, but I've only been on Cleghorn off the 15 fwy side.

Don't know that I'll even do any wheeling honestly since these guys are mostly city slickers, but in the chance that we do anybody local is welcome to join. I just need someone to point me in the right direction. Thanks!

When we take our UTV's out, we usually post up off the 138 and Miller. SW side of the lake.

I live in crestline and grew up dirtbike riding and offroading on the silverwood trails you don't have to worry about snow most of it is melted by now only some in the shaded areas, and with a locked prerunner you can run all the trails around there just take the bypasses not the rutted out gnarly hills I would gladly point you and your friends in the right direction but I'm on my way to Vegas maybe next time

bringing up an old thread. Would like to take my prerunner sport on a few easy trails soon and make a day trip out of it at silverwood lake. Any specific roads I should look for and check out?

Cleghorn. Easy fire road with side trails with a lil more difficulty.

Stay on the fire road. Still fun and you get a nice view of the lake from up high.

    don't go alone...

we went up a few weekends ago and came across a guy out there solo in a jeep with two small children... they somehow got turnt and the rig ended up rolling... it was bad enough that another group passing by recovered him but had to drive it down to the nearest fire road for the guy as he was too shaken up... he got lucky there were several groups out there... served as a reminder that it's always safer to wheel in groups...

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Little more difficulty? @lashingbar the offshoots at Cleghorn can be utterly fucked. Avoid them if inexperienced and solo.

There's quite a few different offshoots at Cleghorn. Some are easily doable and others not so much.

    However, don't go alone.

Better of if you do especially solo! Some particular offshoot's(such as these two)will pucker you up and potential damage to your truck could occur!I was fortunate enough in my stock 2wd PreCummer to conquer the area with a few puckered up moments!LOL!image.jpg
