What happens if you gotta work on the engine? Do you cut the cage?

The crossover portion of the engine cage bolts in. With the top portion unbolted, the engine comes right out.

I picked up my truck from Solo Motorsports this morning and am pretty happy with the wheel tub work. They cut it back as far as it will go to clear these 35"s.

Really looking forward to the 2-3 July Ocotillo run to finally test this thing out!!

They helped me visualize where to cut but Solo Motorsports already knew where to cut. There is another 1st Gen getting XLT race kit and they did both of ours at same time.

It did make it tighter but it works for me since I'm 5'6. The previous owner was my height too so the seat placement and harnesses all work for me too.

    Lol.

My little 3RZ/5spd works hard to push these tires but the 5.29 gears make it work.

How do the brakes feel with 35s? They aren't tundra brakes correct?

The brakes feel good so far but we will see in the dirt. The Wilwood proportioning valve in the rear made a noticeable difference.

My front brakes are Tacoma but my rear brakes are whatever came on the Tundra axle we swapped in. I'm not sure if there is a difference between Tacomas and Tundra rear drums.

Thanks should of been more specific. I was referring to the front but you answered my question. Those tundra rears are overkill. I barely have any rear bias on my tundy rear, but my front is hurting with my tiny disc

I want to run Tundra brakes up front too but don't want to sell my (6) 15" wheels and tires. It's such an easy swap for a huge gain in braking power.
