Ride quality is 10x better. Of course my old ones had 110k on them, so they were past due for replacements. Old downside is that they have the squeaking.

    Thanks!

I'm waiting for parts to come in for mine. I'm at 95k miles so I was wondering if they rode better.

i get a recall thing in the mail every few months about tacomas. the problem is there is nothing wrong with my truck so it doesn't need any recalls. strange. i guess i'm the only one that got a good truck?

    Feedback ASAP please.............

Has Anybody on here that got these shit springs replaced with more shit springs regret it?

I've been reading here and there that people are hating these new springs more than there old. They sag like hell and just all around suck ass. Then a few people have said they are alot better.

I'm getting this done in about a week so I'd like some yays and nays if possible because I might tell them to keep the things.

Yeah I need mine to sit an inch higher. These old springs have 115,000 on them and sag about an inch. I want to do a killer leaf pack someday but funds are not there right now so if I say fuck it and have them do it and the springs suck, I'll have to buy an add a leaf or just get a new leaf pack.

in my eyes I take the cautious route. It's a safety recall and those are always serious. I'm sure Toyota isn't happy about shelling out money for this. If it sags a bit, oh well. Saving for the AALs

My 08 DCSB had them replaced last Saturday. I didn't do before and after measurements, but to the eye I believe I lost about 2" of height in the rear. Lost my rake which I liked. Now it sits basically level and looks strange to me. Rides OK. Guess I will live with them.

Level is where it's at. Anything but level or a teeny bit higher in the back looks way fucked to me.

Kind of what I'm thinking. Get it done and go from there. If it sits lower in the back I'll add a leaf.

Took mine in to the dealership to see if they needed to be replaced and they did. Waiting for parts to take it back. Dealership said every truck that has come in they ended up replacing them. Of course no charge to me just my time running back and forth.

I'm not happy with mine. Had them replaced yesterday at dealership and there is an obvious sag in the rear. My Tacoma used to ride level, even with a fully loaded bed or trailer on the rear...now there is an obvious sag in the rear with the bed empty. Stealership says "its fine". I should have taken sag measurements before and after. Stealership says they will replace with my old springs for no charge if I want.

I was told by my dealership that they won't replace my leaf pack with the 4 leaf since I have a 3 leaf. I thought everything was supposed to be a 4 leaf pack now?

I also live in the SF Bay Area and have a 05 TRD OR that qualifies for the recall. My truck has Ride Rite airbags and Daystar cradles. From reading all the responses in the different Leaf Spring Recall threads, it appears each dealer independently decides if they are willing to work on modded suspension trucks. Some will, some flat out refuse. Others will, but charge for any additional labor necessary because of the mods. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone in my area that has found a dealer that was willing to perform the recall on a lifted or air bagged truck. And what, if anything, they were charged.

Regarding removing the airbags prior to having the recall done. It would be a PITA to completely remove them (especially the upper brackets) and then later reinstall. On my truck with the Daystar cradles, once the vehicle is on the dealers rack there are only 4 "easy to access" nuts per side to take off to remove the lower bracket attached to the leaf spring. They would take less than 10 minutes per side to remove and reinstall. However, I cannot remove that lower bracket at home and then drive the truck to the dealer.

So I too am looking for a local dealer willing to work with me. Any info would be appreciated.

Yeah, 2" spacer front. Added 1 or 2 leafs in the rear. Thinking I need to add those leafs back in, or have dealership do it

I bought my 2005 Tacoma from a dealer used, 7 years old. It had a lift kit already installed when I bought it from Toyota. I got the recall letter to replace the leaf springs about a month ago and was told I'd have to wait a month for replacement. They never told me why or that my truck could be dangerous to operate. Had I known I would have checked it out. They called last week and made an appointment for today to repair the leaf springs. I dropped it off and they asked about the lift kit. I told them I bought it from them that way. Before I got home they called and said they had to put it back to stock and that they can't repair it with the lift kit in. I asked if they would update the front to stock and they said yes but for a stiff price. Off Road Wearhouse said they would charge $125 to put the lift kit back in the rear. The dealership said the U bolts were part of the problem so I'm not sure it's safe with the kit in. As it stands, my springs are not broken yet, 94000 miles. I talked to two other dealerships this morning about my situation and they both said a lot of people are in the same situation and are spending heir own money over this. I'm now going to spend the time and energy to embarrass the dealership and Toyota Corporation as much as I can because they are punishing their customers because they created a defective suspension. If they had any honor and cared about customer service they would repair the defect and leave my lift kit intact. I hope all of you will do the same. When you criticize the Corporation charge them with being dishonorable when you complain about this issue. I will keep all of you up to date.

So I got mine done. Got inspected, told them truck makes noise decelerating from 45 to 30mph. They said the leaf springs are the culprit. Told they were on backorder and be here in a month. Two weeks later they were here and in. Feels a bit stiffer. Amazingly the noise is gone! Nothing drastic. Ready for an AAL. Will a progressive 3 leaf fit on these? Overload has to stay off for a progressive 3 leaf AAL right? Will that be 1.5" lift? Whats the difference in ride quality between 1 AAL vs 3 leaf progressive AAL? I'm also wanting to do U bolt flip and new bumpstops. Will I need degree shims, carrier bearing drop and longer brake lines?
