There wasn't really ever a plan formulated. Sounds like quite a few people are going though, so I guess we'll just look for each other's trucks?

    Need some inspiration...

I am going to be mounting a foxwing style awning on the Prinsu rack and am trying to figure out an easy way to give it a little more height. If I mount it directly to the side of the rack, it'll be a little bit low for comfort, but if I mount it up higher with an L-bracket, that 6" or so would make a huge difference. What I'd like to do is put it on a hinge so it'd lay flat when not in use and then I can just flip it up and lock it somehow when in use. The locking part doesnt seem like it'd be too necessary since it'll be nice and heavy but would be nice.

I thought about using a gate hinge like this
    http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt...ap-Surface-Mount-Hinge-2-Pack-20227/204727557
I have a two from something else that are about 6" long for each leg.

Just would need to figure out an easy way to get it to stop at 90 degrees, and not get in the way of closing it.

any ideas @3378jakesr5 and other fabbers...

I was thinking that bolting a thick and small L bracket in front of it would stop it, but not sure how much deflection I would have by doing it like that.

By having it be able to fold down, it'll still fit in some parking garages. Not overly worried about it, but would be nice not to have to deal with it when I do need to park indoors. Not to mention, its a close fit in some regular garages now.

    edit:

    something like this might work.

I have an idea for that and i have hinge left from the trailer build. For the way to keep it up would be a side bracket with a pop pin and you would be all set.

Looks like it's only 50 pounds, less than i expected so I'd probably just need two brackets.

    Side bracket?

I just wanted to see what they looked like lol. I did skim his thread a little to see some. I'm wondering too what the kickout looks like with fiberglass bedsides.
