    More protection is debatable, but I concur on the longer OCI. I like changing my oil every 5k though, get to spend some quality time with the Taco and do a routine inspection at that time. I could wait longer with syn but I don't, hence the inevitable switch to conventional soon. Just makes sense for my wallet.

    Love hearing that I just bought my 2.7l with 134k on it,

    why should we not use synthetic? I could understand if you change your oil a lot you don't need synthetic but still

    5,000 miles ?!?!? Holly balls maybe I'm just a big baby to my engines cause I run the piss outa them, but damn son I've never and I mean I NEVER Let my oil in any vehicle I own go past 3,000 you can actually hear oils viscosity reduse significantly around 2300 miles

    my 2.7 runs synthetic and the dealer explained to me that was the 1 draw back to that engine is you still have to change oi every 5k i'd switch to organic if i could but nothing from pa no perefin based oils

    Maybe send your oil to Blackstone and have them do a UOA on it.

    I go a year or 15k miles with mobil 1 extended. it has since it was new. I pulled the engine apart and it looks amazing still.
