It doesn't seem to be too high on their priority list. They just got home from their 3000 mile cross country trip. Now I need to get Dad to take the truck over to RCI to pick up his new sliders.

Hey all, i found out a few weeks ago ill be moving down to Houston.

So i figured you guys would be good to ask a few questions.

First off whats a nicer area to look at mving to?
Is the cost of living high?

And to the important stuff, im selling my 4runner currently and was looking at getting an ecoboost or new tundra. But a 05 duramax lt has become available from my boss, 50k miles for 27k. A coworker of mh dads is also selling his 09 ltz duramax with 37k miles for 40k.

This was all being taken into considerationbefore finding out about the move. Iso would like to get some opinions on if a decent option, or woulda performance car make more sense? I have no family, just my gf and i.

Kinda just trying to get a feel for the area and prepare for everything.

    Thanks

    First off, welcome.
Now depending on where you will work will dictate where you want to live, as our traffic is horrendous. So do you want to live in the city or the suburbs? Also will you be working in the city or what? On the south side Pearland and Sugarland are both nice suburbs. If you wanna live in the city, Midtown, the Heights, Belaire are all nice places. I dont know what the cost of living is in these places, i live in a small town to the south just outside the suburbs. As for the truck thing, that's really your call.

Also does Houston require emissions testing? I've never had to deal with it being from Montana so figured I should ask as well. Thanks for the tips.

Yes. In Texas all counties surrounding a metropolitan area require emissions on top of the state safety when you get your vehicle inspected. But you're in luck, the price went down from 40 to 25 bucks for full inspections last year. But I believe registration costs went up.
