Hey guys quick question, wanted to see if anyone could help out. I've heard some people say that doing the Cab mount chop to our trucks makes them a salvage title for cutting the frame. Is this true?? Was about to get it done to run bigger tires but definitely don't want that! Thanks in advance

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
First I've heard of it and I've had my cab mount chopped for almost a year and a half now.

I've had the cab mount chopped for over a year and no salvage title. Any questions? It's not load bearing you're just chopping excess metal off the outside corner and capping it with a metal square then welding/painting it up.

That's exactly what i was thinking cause i see where the bolt goes through and connects to the cab and on mine it's rubbing on the very edge where the welds are. Thanks digitalbravo much appreciated I'm gonna chop it for sure now

You'll be fine. You only get a salvage title if it's reported totaled, youll be fine. Enjoy that truck brutha!

Thanks man, do appreciate it! 285s are a bit narrower. Once chopped you'll rub on the pinch weld at the back of the fender welll and on the fender flare and possibly too/front outsides. A lot depends on backspacing and how far your tire sits out. A 12.5" is a hefty tire for these trucks!

Ya i wish i went with something smaller I kinda got talked into it at the local tire shop I mean they look great but definitely cause more clearance issues then I want to be remedying right now
