I would never ride on the streets! What do I need to ride in the tracks? I don't have my bike registered or a title and I'm a beginner I don't really want to race.

You are going to be disappointed.

I bought a Kawasaki KE100 as a beginner, and had to upgrade within 2 months. So underpowered, and a waste of money.

They have a very timid beginner track, just your bike, helmet, goggles, gloves, long sleeves and pants and boots and an ID, costs $40. You don't need to race to play on the practice tracks.

I think it's a great stepping stone. I rode a TTR125 for the longest time. That's what I learned to ride on and even continued to ride it after I outgrew it a bit. I then upgraded to a YZ125 and damn that thing was sexy. It was great, but after another year or two I need to go bigger. That's when I got a YZ250 and fell in love. It's just like the YZ125 in terms of size and weight, but just WAY faster. I'm glad I went in the order I did and didn't jump the gun and go straight to the 250. That would've been suicide.

The yz125 is as tall as a 250 and the 125 is a 2 stroke I think it's a fast bike for now I guess

For future reference always buy bikes with certificate of origin or title, just to ensure its not stolen which is a trending issue in the community, plus you could technically have it seized if it is in fact stolen.

Thats not the point the engine size, gearing and suspension is not set up for a heavier/taller rider. But it will be a good learning bike.

A KE100 is a trail bike and is not comparable to YZ125 motocross race bike. It is meant to be underpowered. I think he will like the 125 for quite some time.
Go to the track meet some people, ask to trade rides on their bikes. You will not believe all the people that want to trade rides on your 125. You should be able to experience quite a few different bikes.

I wouldn't count on that, its Jersey/NYC area. I race and ride here.

I'm so happy I made the switch to two stroke. WAY peppier and the bike as a whole is lighter. I rode my buddies 450 then hopped on my 250, and I still preferred my bike. It's a lot easier to throw around on the trails.

Due to the weight of the engine higher up and the extra centrifugal forces in a 4 stroke engine, I feel the same way, but each has the plus and minuses. I'm a two stroke taliban member.

    You can't compare a 125 four stroke vs a 125 2 stroke, way different engines bud. A 125 2 stroke is like a 250f four stroke a 125 four stroke is like an 85 2 stroke.

They both have their perks. One huge perk for me was the ease of starting that. On my friends 450, you had to kick that thing forever to get it to start once it was hot.

Man, all this talking about riding is making me miss it big time.

Your missing my point your new bike a yz125 (125 2 stroke) is not set up/designed for a 200lb 6 ft tall rider.
