You can only get the KDSS in the plain Trail version of the 4runner. I looked at the 4runner before I bought my Taco.

It's good to stay with Toyota for quite a few reasons. Corporate for the big three all will claim they have no control over their dealers when you run into problems with their vehicles. Also, if it's not covered by a warranty they will not cover the problem.

The worse of the lot to deal with is GM. I bought a Phoenix SJ new in Feb 1982 in Arkansas, and then drove it to Vallejo, California. One month after purchase the car failed to start.

A 25 cent capacitor in the ECM system failed, and the local dealer did not keep the cap in stock.

Even though the repair was in warranty, I was told by the dealer in Vallejo that and I quote - "Since I made no money off of the sale of your car I will not afford you the same courtesy I give my regular customers", unquote.

GM Corporate told me to take a hike, and I was now walking with no loaner vehicle. Repair took two months since they kept ordering one cap, the mechanic's blew the new cap, and then they would only order one more. Finally I had to order a case of caps myself to get the problem fixed.

I've had other problems with other brands as well. When you are in the Military auto dealers will screw you over if you did not buy from them. They only care about the money. Toyota so far has treated me right.

So this is resolved. Toyota is buying the truck, you are buying a 4runner, and you'll move on to troll another website...right?!?!?

His last one was killed. It's actually gone. Thankfully. Maybe this one will go too. nothing productive happened in either.

*Disclaimer: Vehicle is BRAND NEW, has never been off road or near water or dirt, owner doesn't know why the rear diff blew up or why the tranny is slipping or why the engine hydrolocked. Toyota better fix it or owner's gonna threaten to buy a Land Cruiser.
