planning on selling my tacoma and getting a 4runner

i remember you mentioned past 00 they changed stuff with electrical, i'm about to check out t4r but wanted to see if you had any advice when shopping.

 

I have a 05 I've had since new. Comparing it to my 05 tacoma it's like comparing oranges to shit. As much as I love my tacoma the 4runner rides much better, fully locked up axles that kick ass offroad, better finish in interior, better mpgs, shorter wheelbase but you can do that in a regular cab tacoma as well. It's actually made in Japan not in California. I needed a truck so I bought the tacoma thinking it was as good as the 4runner. It's not. If yiu dint need a bed or don't haul anything buy the 4runner. I have 150k on mine and I've not done anything but service it and change the battery/tires. The tacoma is awsome compared to other trucks in its market by a longshot. If I needed another truck I'd buy the tacoma again but it's no where near the quality of the 4runner. Mine is a 05 TRD sport btw. The 4runner is a limited with a v6 not the 8.

 

i'd be going from a first gen taco. i like the 3rd gen 4runners. but apparently i could buy nearly 3 of them for the price of what a first gen taco sells for... so i might go newer, if specs are worth it.

i haven't sat in one yet, please tell me there is more room for the driver.. if not i might be thinking of something else. that's the only thing i have concerns about

 

My brother has a 98 4runner. The driver position is identical to a 1st Gen taco

Those look great, good to hear Casey is still doing his thing. Do you think he can make a set of bolt ons? As sad as this may sound, I'm trying to keep it easily returnable to stock just in case. If all-pro would release their front bumper already I wouldn't be asking.

 

From what I just read it doesn't look bad. Not sure how some trails (such as Gallagher) are classified. If it's a maintained road, it would still be accessible. Will have to research to understand the possible impacts. Any inputs?

 

Almost done! Probably won't get it finished till after Tahuya, so 1 more trip with the ole Viair.

CMC and possible pinch weld stuff. I ain't crazy enough to do 35s yet...
