6" Procomp Coilover lift, 18 inch motometal wheels, too small of tires, magnaflow exaust, highly illegal tint, poser TRD off-road stickers, TRD intake, NFAB nerf bars, lots of love.
So my main question is this, what can be done to improve your Tacoma? I'm looking for more power/reliability/quickness without breaking the bank. What would you recommend in order of importance? Looking for tips on upgrades/maintenance (I.E. Clean your air filter/throttle body, headers/MAF sensor upgrade) P.S. I already have an intake and exaust so that's out. Ideas/pre-existing threads I should check?

There's not much that can be done to improve performance on these trucks without SC/ turbo. There are lots of threads. Use the search function and check the search titles only box. Keep trying different keyword combinations, you'll find lots of reading material.

The cheapest and easiest thing you can do is drop weight from the truck if you want to make it quicker. Take out unneeded tools, run OEM size tires, no roof racks, no gas cans, light bars, etc.

Or you can spend a few thousand on a supercharger or performance tuning.

    That's like $60 per 1 hp!

Smaller and thinner tires will make it accelerate faster. And you can also do like 2015WhitOR said and drop weight. Ditch spare tire and unused seats and anything else not needed.

It may sound stupid, but what do you expect? Needs a sc or turbo.

At least the argument has shifted from "mods don't give you any improvements," to "it's to expensive."

    Progress.

For those that didn't proceed onto the page with what all is included - http://urdusa.com/store/URD-Perform....html?osCsid=a7d2c5f57a00988a8c5b2c4b32a32c60

$1500 of that $3k is the UCON alone. This is why I said buy the pieces individually. Then $1500 for multiple parts isn't too bad.

Either way, it is N/A. The dollar per hp is always higher than F/I. These N/A mods work with the two s/c kits available, so then it becomes an even worthier investment.

So I think my main goal is to get my truck to be as powerful and prepared as possible because I want to eventually step up to 35 inch tires. I don't really care about how fast I go. I just know those 35's will be parisitic on the motor, so I want to have the best fighting chance I can.

I'm not trying to hijack, but has there been any attempt to bore/stroke these blocks to get a little more power? It seems like if you were going to rebuild the shortblock and had unlimited money... maybe it could be done?

But by that point, it might make more sense to squeeze a 4.7 V8 into it. Just wondering out loud basically.

practical tip, move to 100% synthetics. Especially for the x cases, axles, manual tranny - I have had good results with Redline oils, as has a mechanic friend, and guy I met that works at a local dyno shop. It is not going to add horse power but you will loose less HP to driveline friction more so if you have a stick shift.

Maybe not so practical is having the cylinder heads shaved- get the compression up. I have done both of these on a prior Jeep i owned- not huge gains but noticeable.

What about leave it all alone and just regear to make up for the larger tires?

There's no replacement for displacement. That said, the closest you'll get is forced induction. Anything short of that offers little to no gains and is mostly just done for looks/sound.

Shedding weight and re-gearing are possible options, re-gearing especially if you're concerned about larger tires affecting performance.
