Morning everyone. I'm going to paint where I cut my fenders and I was wondering what kinda paint is necessary? Just wanting to paint a little so no rust starts.

I am a big fan of hammered finish easy to touch up and really good rust prevention.

Morning fellas and lady. @Daria if yall do get kayaks, there are some pretty cool waterfalls that you can paddle to from Devils Fork state park. we went and luckily we got there early enough to where everyone hadn't found falls yet. it was (I think) about a 3 or 4 mile paddle to one of the falls but it was really worth it. take a lunch and youll be golden! I cant wait to get back in the woods after it cools off again. I think we have a camp trip planned for the 25th and 26th but we haven't decided where exactly yet. probably somewhere up in that area. if youre into backpacking you should also check out Keowee-Toxaway state park. we backpacked into one of their backcountry sites and theres a sweet rock to jump off of into the water.

I'm trying to avoid excessive hiking as its summer and I get cranky AF when I get hot. Fall will be a whole 'nother ball game.

 were on the same page with the heat aspect. cant stand it. at least with a kayak you can splash yourself! also, getting the dogs in and out of the water keeps you cool too. mine loves the kayak! that's my sisters first attempt to get her pups in a kayak. it was a loooong day to say the least haha

Chloe loves water. But yesterday she had a bad vertigo issue. She was drunk swimming, paddling sideways into the rocks and couldn't catch her step.

that's odd... that would freak me out. had my sisters dog run head on into mine and she got a mild concussion I think. was stumbling around and couldn't stand up right, that freaked me out and I wasn't even close to water. I also got a life jacket for all of them Just in case shtf and they get knocked out somehow or have to do a long swim without me.

Shes never had the vertigo issue before. But as a human with vertigo, I know those feels. I pulled her out of the water and made her sit on the rocks with me. She was fine after she shook her head a bunch to get the water out of her ears. But I did laugh a lot when she was swimming sideways. Im not sure if she could control herself enough to not jump out of the kayak every two seconds.

yea it took a few trips for mine to learn to stay in. we were out in the harbor and she decided to go for a swim so I just kept paddling around until she was completely exhausted, then she was more than content to stay in the back. having them really familiar with "sit" and "stay" also helps tremendously. now she just lay her head over the side and drags her face through the water until I tell her to go swimming.

My only hesitation about getting a kayak, aside from spending money, is no place to store it. I mean, I guess I could keep it in my dining room.

yea that's a tough one. theres bound to be someone up that way on TW that has room in their yard! I keep mine at work right and just chain it to a tree out of sight. but when I first got it I had to keep it in a storage unit for a few months till I found a spot I could put it. I think it was like $30 a month for the small one I rented. you could also just rent a kayak for a couple of days. as much as I use mine these days, it probably would be cheaper for me to just rent one everytime than to buy one.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
2 12' kayaks hanging/about to be hanging form the ceiling in the garage and 2 6' kids kayaks on the wall. way too much shit in my garage to even pull the wife's prius in there.

Well we need to fix that... Now that I'm ready to get on the water, I have no idea where to get in where I know I can get back out (not end up 8 miles down river and have to walk back to my truck dragging a boat behind me). There's a few parks around locally that I can put in at but I'd like to explore some of the waterways.

haha im down! I usually just put in at my work and paddle out to Morris island and let the dog run and play until she passes out. on rivers, having a drop off vehicle where youre going to be taking out is key also. but that makes solo trips damn near impossible. anytime any of yall want easy access to the Charleston harbor and to Fort Sumter, let me know. I can open the gate to Fort Johnson so that you can just drive into the complex and put the kayaks in. its a pretty nice location.
