Had a very productive weekend for only having sunday off.
picked up a cool little yard tractor. diamond in the rough, and just about stole it. 1980s Roper Rally with a Briggs and Straton motor. purrs like a kitten. only thing wrong is that 3rd gear doesn't work well. honestly though, I'd probably spill my beer trying to mow the lawn in 3rd, so not a big deal

apparently it's a popular model to use for tractor racing, and I'd the odd guy out, using it for work around the yard.

little dirty when I picked it up, but you can tell it's in great shape for a ~30 year old machine
    [IMG]

the lights do work, but I'm thinking LED upgrade is in order

one of the dogs absolutely loved it for some reason. would follow me as I drove it around, and as soon as I stopped, would jump up on my lap. really cute, but now I know I'm going to have to keep him indoors when I'm actually mowing with it.

a quick wash and wax, and some fresh paint in a few locations (wheels and mower deck mostly), and it looks like a brand new tractor. just needs a new seat and we'll be good to go!

also redid the kayak rack for the trailer....again.

new rack has the kayaks up on an angle. curved lower supports are kinda goofy looking, but they allow a single person to slide/flip a 12 foot kayak onto the rack with relatively minimal effort. the gap between the kayaks is to hold paddle boards, which leaves the wooden deck open for anything else. spare tire will be strapped down there for now.

only thing left to do is install is some quick-fists for the paddles, and I'd like to hang an 8'' watertight tube of some sort under the top of the a-frame to store fishing rods in.

also thinking it will be to my benefit to toss a 2'' hitch ball on the tractor to make it easier to get in and out of the back yard.

Transmission housing is stuck to the block, with all bully's removed.....sonnot a good status. Haven't worked on it in a couple weeks, but I'm soaking the joint between thee two with penetrant every couple days. Hoping the next time I get into the garage, a couple smacks with the 4lb shorty sledge breaks it free.

Well damn. My wife just found out that she knows/knew two of the Florida shooting victims. Two guys she used to work with. One has passed, the other in critical condition. I never went to that club, but I've driven by it. My wife has gone to it on numerous occasions. This one's hitting close to home

    "hasn't overheated yet"

Great looking car, but the problem with Fieros is that people get a bit too proud of them come selling time. even with a V8 swap, a car like that typically fetches ~$4000-$5000. to get 7k out of that, he either need a V8 that wasn't out of a 30 year old car, or would have to have done some other performance enhancing work (suspension, corvette brakes, power steering, etc).

While they do have a very impressive following, Fieros haven't reached "collector" status yet, so the going rate remains low

I agree. My buddy had a fiero GT V6 5speed, quick little car until it got stolen. The one on CL would be nice with a built LS. I'm into the older cars myself.

Hey guys long time no talk. I'll be back in a Tacoma by the end of the week!!! 2011 sr5 access cab MGM. I can't wait! The mods will be soon to follow. Not sure if I'm going to lift it or not but quick question. What is the biggest size tire I can fit without getting a lift and doing a CMC? Looking to get Goodyear wrangler with Kevlar. Any reviews on them? Thanks and I'm glad to be back.

same width as stock, but up 5% on the aspect ratio. lift is irrelevant. cab mount/fenders/wheel backspacing are your limiting factors.

I will help with lift kit install or welding part of cab mount chop, to the one that buys my used KO2's 275/70R16, just saying!

So does anybody have an exact size on tires? Like would 31s work?
