By popular demand we have been asked to start a build thread on our 3rd Gen Tacoma build by a ton of friends and followers on Instagram (@TorconTRD) and social media. So here goes nothing

2016 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Off Road - Quicksand
For those who dont know us we also own a 2014 4runner @fargo4x4 on Instagram

    Before we start!
SPECIAL THANKS to everyone who helped us soo much on this build!
Shout out @C4 Fabrication who besides making great products pretty much exactly how we wanted... but also allowed us to virtually take over their shop for a few days to facilitate the rest of the transformation which we pulled off in less then 3 days! C4 Fab got their hands dirty with us, let us use some of their tools when we needed them... let us ship the tires, rims and countless add ons to their shop over the last few months while they fabricated the new products you see here... without them we would have had to drive home (from their shop in South Dakota to south Florida on a stock suspension and fumbled for months with our primitive tools on the driveway until we got it to look something like it looks now!

Beyond their first class products they made they also provided first class service and I can honestly say we never once doubted choosing C4 Fab for our transformation... when your working with people like this... the distance between South Dakota and South Florida seem so small haha. We felt at home and welcomed and we hope it shows on this build.

Special thanks to so many companies and individuals who gave us suggestions, answered our questions and helped us get this build all together over the last few months.

Dbcustomz for helping us get rid of the stock grille and replace it with something that looks much better and is also functional. Great customer service, answered all our questions and their products are first class!

Timbren Industries sent us a ton of information and made sure we were perfectly comfortable with the install process of their bumpstops and with the kind of expedition weight we tend to toss in the back on our trips they make a huge difference!

Relentless Fabrication came through with some hardcore under armor despite the short notice and strict timelines we had.

Baja Designs put up with all of our questions and were patient and helpful throughout the whole R&D phase as C4 Fab developed these new products with Baja Designs lighting in mind. After running chinese Amazon specials on our 4runner and FJ we now see the importance of quality made lighting and are excited to be running Baja Designs lights on this build.

I've never been a fan of the hoops on a front bumper until now and I like the fact that you didn't have to cut it for it to fit. Your set up looks great...

I get a lot of PM's on social media about a lot of things so I will try to post answers here... One of the questions is the license plate area... for those of you who love the little details that dont show on most images but make a huge difference on builds like this you will likely appreciate these posts

Below is a shot showing how we integrated the stock tow harness, hitch receiver and still accomplished such high clearance...

    trailer%20hitch%20wire%20harness_zpsqpkp_8b4ac0bb20936f78df921f0551555573a49e8a3f.jpg

The next picture shows the gap between the fender and the front bumper... this gap is necessary since bumpers flex alot and need space to play so they dont dent your fenders... this gap to some people may be "ugly" we dont think its a big deal but this is what we did to hide the gap... we painted it ourselves... lol we simply taped everything off, scuffed the surface and hit it with with some black primer and clear coat...

    gap%20painted%20collage_zpsldso31he_d1a1ad0e6bfeb8a2adf24cc7dc85a1407533ffc5.jpg

Now it should be noted the bumper is not bolted all the way tight in this pic... we did that to better show the gap we are talking about... the bumper naturally sits a little bit more tighter but you get the idea...

Above is a shot of how we illuminate the license plate... its a ultra white led strip attached to the bottom of the tailgate nice and hidden...

A lot of questions on social media we have gotten has to do with the tail lights and if they can still be removed with the rear bumper hoops... so here is some photographic evidence =p yes switching the bulb is very straight forward and easy.
