I'm in Pittsburgh. The best I can do so far is Invoice Price +TDA($650) + Delivery ($900) That normal or can I do better? These dealers are not dropping the TDA fee and they won't go under invoice.

Too much UNLESS they have the EXACT truck you want, and you can get it today.

That's not a bad deal. If you like the truck go for it.

Looking for a 2016 DC Off-road 4x4 with Tech and Tow packages. Prefer Quicksand, auto or manual doesn't matter. Every local dealer is either at MSRP or $500 off MSRP. Locating or ordering doesn't seem to matter. It's sad considering I live in the city that makes the damn trucks and they don't want to sell one to me. Or they do want to sell one to me but at a rather inflated premium.

Red McCombs: 500 off MSRP (and I bought my last Tacoma from them)
Boerne Toyota: MSRP and if I want to order it will be 6 months minimum (what?)
Cavender Toyota: MSRP and not interested in ordering one for me.
Universal Toyota: MSRP but happy to order (bought wife's 4Runner from them)
Alamo Toyota: MSRP and wants to wait to see what comes in
North Park Toyota: never got back to me (I service my own truck but when I need warranty or inspection stickers etc. I trust these guys to do everything right and sing praises about them)

The new Tacoma seems okay. I'm not super excited about it and it definitely does not seem leaps, and bounds above what I am driving now. I sat in a few while I was waiting for the 4Runner to get its last free service and couldn't help think how cheap the knob to activate the 4x4 felt. Some car companies weight their knobs to have a more tactile feel and this felt...plasticky? That creepy feeling continued as I made my way around the rest of the truck. Again, it's okay and does have its pluses, just not what I was hoping it would be.

Look in Dallas, Houston and other Texas locations via cars.com and email.

I tried to do the same thing. The problem is that the dealers wouldn't give much off and wouldn't order the truck I wanted given the demand here in SoCal. The best deal was about 1k off of msrp and like I said they didn't even try to find the truck.

You could make a 4 hour trip to the DC area and save yourself $3-4k.

That's not a good deal imo.

For those of you that have had luck paying around invoice, how did you first approach the dealers? Did you specifically tell them you were looking for a specific model (if not one on their lot) and state that you were shopping around and interested in paying invoice? Any advice you can provide would be appreciated. Hoping to go through their internet sales depts rather than waste time at the dealer only to leave.

Great stuff! So far dealers have responded with $1200 below MSRP (which is already inflated from what I've seen) and their monthly payment numbers don't add up when I perform the calculations by hand or by the online lease calculator. When you said you were interested in purchasing at invoice, did you provide them with a specific number or just say invoice? Someone quoted me $32104 on an SR5 today which was $1300 off MSRP but their payments were $565!!!!! Didn't know I was inquiring on a Mercedes Benz.

I'm looking for a 36 month lease, 15k miles per year with $0 down. Looking at the TRD sport DCSB 4x4 V6 which online is around $34900. I got around $455 on that but the SR5 quote was hilarious. I've been told the MF is .0019 and RV 68%. Tax rate 7.50%. The numbers have been all over the board which is why I'm interested in seeing what happens when I ask for invoice.

I gave them a breakdown. Double cab long bed TRD sport 4x4 with premium tech with jbl. The sales people tend to be a little dumb. Tell them you're looking for invoice pricing and let the emails fly. You'll get someone to bite. Just depending on how far you're willing to travel.
