I have a 2013 Tacoma TRD Offroad. Bought it with 10K miles and it does exactly the same thing. Dealership said it is normal. I'm a bit pissed. At least they should have a fix to offer. It is annoying as hell. Sounds like a pretty common problem. Hey... Isn't that what a new car warranty is all about?

I have a 2012, 6cyl, 4dr,SR5 and had the same problem with squeaking rear brakes. After 3 trips to the dealer with this complaint they finally agreed that there was a TSB # 0236-12 that covered this issue. The dealer at no cost to me replaced the following 2 Rear Brake Drums, Brake shoes, Gaskets and lube. Here are the parts they used: 2 #42431-04080 Drum, Brake, 1 #04495-04020 Shoe Kit, Brake, RR, 2 #42444-35050 Gasket, Brake Drum, 1 #08887-80609 Brake Caliper Grease. Be persistent. I hope this helps someone. Good Luck. BTW- I had 33700 miles on it when the repair was done.

Disco, I don't think doing anything to the rear brakes will fix this. The squeak comes from the pedal and has something to do with the hydraulic boost brakes when pressing the pedal. My '15 TRD OR does it too and I also get a little "click" feeling in the pedal sometimes when braking. Unfortunately, I think it's all considered normal at this point.

First post: This is the first "issue" I've noticed with my '13 O/R I've owned for 3 days. No fix??

Reviving an older thread here because this brake pedal noise is driving me crazy when I don't have the radio on in my 2015 Taco. Is there really not a fix for this?

Mine makes more of a squeaking noise. That just sounds normal.

That actually just sounds like the brake pedal being pushed. Mine actually squeaks.

Mine sounds like a mix between a squeak and a squish. Sounds like stepping on a wet sponge. It's like you can hear fluid compressing. Definitely louder when it is warm out.

Any update on this issue? 2006 trd with the squeaky pedal, been doing it for a couple years but it’s very irritating. Anyone had luck with lubricant?
