Driver that took off was probably texting and never even knew what happened. Hope they get em. Always wondered what would happen with a topper in roll over. Looks like it just fell off

If you look after the wreck it looks like the PT Cruiser pulled over on the left and stopped. At least I hope he did. You can see him by the light pole.

The pt cruiser had no reason not to pull over. The black suv forced the Tacoma into the cruiser. I'm assuming the cruiser driver seen the biker and pulled hard back into original lane. Wonder if they catch the suv how the insurance companies would handle it.

I've learned to always hold your lane. Deer and car avoidance will usually cause more havoc.

This is why native Utah drivers are called "Utards". By far the worst drivers I have ever seen. If you buy a new car in Utah the dealers remove the blinkers because they never get used. They might want to start handing out the DMV handbook at Temple Square (Utah people will get this one).

Had to watch it a few times. That PT Cruiser did a number on that 1st Gen. Glad to see the roof held the weight of the truck.

    - that was a bad day for sure.

Looks like a perfect PIT Maneuver by the PT Cruiser.

Watching the end of that video the dude that caused it in the dark SUV was hauling ass. He knows exactly what was up.

I'll second what Stocktrd said about Utah drivers. Some of the most rude, unsafe drivers you'll ever encounter. A typical Utah driver would rather wreck their vehicle than yield, move over or slow down when the situation dictates.

If they never find the SUV driver, who's insurance pays? If they find the SUV driver, can they make his insurance (or him) pay?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but the way I understand it:

Tacoma owner's insurance will pay him for the accident.

If they find the SUV driver, the Tacoma owner's insurance company will sue the SUV owner's insurance company for the value of the payout.

If they don't find the driver, the Tacoma owner's insurance company receives no compensation for the payout to the Tacoma owner.

I call BS on saying these roofs cant hold a RTT.

If It can take a roll, It can hold a tent!

In all seriousness, thats too bad.

Being a Utah native, I can confirm the drivers here are so impatient and rude. etc. etc.

Handing it out might work. Would be more effective if it were worked into the official doctrine though. "You have to pair up and knock on people's doors to spread the word, and you must obey the rules of the DMV handbook."
