Would it be considered tacky and out of line to say I'm entertaining impure thoughts?

Holy shit, that is a sexy beast.

God, I love the J frames. And the '66 is my favorite year in a Chevelle.

    So. Much. Shiny.

    Uh, gotta run.

Dream car for me still has to be an original 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W30. High school boyfriend had a non-W30, as did his dad, and it's the first car I ever helped work on at all. Had a soft spot for it ever since.

Best year for the Olds. Again with the J frames? Y'all trying to give me car dreams?

While we're at it, '69 was the best year for the GTO and '71 was best year for the Buick GSX. We miss anyone?

The reason we all think this is sexy is because it looks like the hot wheels cars we used to play with as kids.!

    Love split windows, but....
I don't know. The rubber band tire/wheel combo makes the dimensions on the car look wrong.

Hey Cap? Just an FYI, Chevelles, GTOs, 442s etc. are collectively known as A-bodies. I've owned, driven and worked on several for over 40 years and I've never heard them referred to as J frame before.

Oh, and 1967 is the best year for the GTO.:p

    Here's mine again.

'67 was the first year that those came with a 3-speed slushbox instead of the old 2-speed powerglide, right?

You're mostly right, '67 was the first year the GTO got the 3-speed TH-400. What most people don't know (or care, really) is that The BOP cars used a completely different 2-speed auto than Chevy's powerglide. It was officially known as the ST-300 (Super Turbine), and shared few, if any, parts with the powerglide.

    Aha! I lurnt sumthin terday!
I always thought that it was just a different version of the Powerglide (different gear placements) and that it got a different name because of it.

Shit - you're right. The first car I bought was a J-body. Too much brain data getting jumbled in my cranial Rubbermaid bin.

And it is universally agreed that the '67s don't suck.

Cap, incorrect rims & tires, stereo...
My first car, a '68 Goat... I had to take pics of pics, so please forgive the lack of quality... Most of the good pics are still on 35mm rolls, somewhere... White blotch is just reflection from pic of pic, not damage...

I know what you're saying. A couple inches off the ground and 20 aspect ratio tires on 22" wheels is fine for some Italian supercar, but I need to see some meat in the wheel wells of that old American iron. Even my dad's '57 Bel Air looks a bit odd with the 17s.
