the Prosecutor losses his key witness.

Hope this never happens to anyone here though. Glad Keason had no incident! WE can all sit here and debate, but until it happens to you.. well you get it.

hope it doesn't happen to someone and they use this thread as evidence against that person.

True. But also true is that the job of a cop is to enforce the laws of the official government, NOT protect individual citizens.

A whole ton more cases out there that say the same thing. Depressing, but true. To the OP, good job. Way to show some restraint.

I think you can, cuz Big 5 used to sell something similar. Sort of their "end of the world" gun. IIRC, CA lets you own semi-auto weapons with 10 rounds or less.

Best google it though, cuz CA gun laws will pop up near the top.

That could have been just a drunken mistake on the person's part and could have cost him big time, it is good to know you were ready to defend yourself if things got out of hand. Think as clearly as you can, even then mistakes can happen, I know that for a fact :)

I think you can... As long as you only keep 1 round in it with a trigger lock and a cable lock in it at all time, and call a cop to come unlock it for you between 9 and 5PM only on the weekdays...

thanks man, glad you joined in on here. I like to think i handled it well, after the fact I sarted to think of how i culd have done it differently. maybe yell and say " what do you want?" or "i have a gun pointed at the door and cops are on the way" maybe he would have ran away alot quicker? who knows but im glad that it didnt escalate any further than it did.
I will be installing motion lights as soon as I get off work too.

Maybe he saw your truck and was dying to hear about what you have done to it.

...or maybe he wanted to kill you and take your truck..

i dont disagree with this...HOWEVER i do advocate those who arent trained to do so to NOT go looking for the source of the noise in their house...

    x2

i understand what the job of a cop is...however visibility and being proactive in communities does prevent crime...and theyre a lot more likely to get to your house quicker when the 911 comes out if theyre out patrolling instead of hanging out at HQ

I installed a motion light in the car port area, need to see about placing one on the side of the house where the kids rooms are and also replacing the porch light with one as well. The one on the car port area seems to be burning out often though, probably some electrical issue I will need to fix.

Here you go, this is what you need. Benelli Supernova Tactical with Ghost Ring sights. 4 Shot side saddle, 7 Round magazine, 150Lumen LED flashlight with pressure switch mounted on the slide. Oh yeah Remington Home Defense Shells. As for a home defense shotgun, I would go with a pump. Unless you fork over a ton for a good autoloader, pumps will be more reliable.

    my humble opinion?

shotguns are great home defense weapons IF you stay hunkered down like you should

if you try to be billy bad ass and go clear your house...you should use a handgun

    no lights...no lasers

Very true, considering my shotgun is a little unwieldy in my apartment. Which is why I have a sling and plenty of handguns to go around.
