Anyone interested in joining me and a buddy at Wolf CAVES (not Ranch) for some offroading on Saturday? Making a day trip of it.

    Wolf caves?

Funny though, @Toyboata and I were just throwing around the idea of heading up there Saturday for a day trip as well. A little too expensive, though, since it's a harder park and we couldn't be able to do much. Opted for Hidden Falls this Sunday instead

Gotcha. My buddy is a big jeep guy (two jeeps, works at a jeep shop, etc.- and one of his rigs is a certified beast) and we'll be doing the easier stuff in my ride and the harder stuff in his.

I've never actually been proper offroading, so I'm trying to go with folks that know what they're doing.

    Have fun at Hidden Falls!

I'd look at pictures before you commit.. haha, especially if it's your first trip. I heard its like K2's slightly younger brother, and if that's true you're gonna be in for quite an interesting trip haha. I've never been, only been to K2, maybe someone else can chime in.

And thanks! Y'all are welcome to join.

Worst case, I'll just be his passenger. His rig can most assuredly handle it. (He's done even more mods since this photo was taken.)

Yeah, i'm sure it'll be a fun trip either way. I've followed a really built Jeep with an experienced driver before (LJ locked front/rear in dual chromoly/trussed 44s with long arms and 37s to name the tip of the ice burg) and despite being (a self considered) experience wheeler, I came out with some bad body damage, haha

Yeah, my truck is lifted with 33"s, but no armor or anything and it'll be my first time out. (My last ride was an s2000.... not quite an off-road beast) ;) If I do anything, it'll be minimal. I'll need to get out to Hidden Falls at some point for sure!

Yeah man, its a lot more beginner friendly at some spots since its so huge, haha.

And saw your edited post, his Jeep looks awesome! Wheel with anyone willing to wheel is our mentality.

Let me know how it is for sure, maybe i'll have to head out one weekend

Edit: tbh, i've done some beater Jeep builds before, that'd be the front bumper i'd have without question. And those Anti-rock swaybar connects are awesome, all my buddies with Jeeps either have 'em or want 'em

Does anybody know if there is a difference between the SR5 coils and the TRD Offroad coils?

From what I have read on the forum over the years, TRD OR has progressive coils, all others are linear coils.

I don't think there is a difference in length though if that's what you're asking

Sorry if it sounds stupid, what is a progressive coil?

Asking if the coil will behave different. Wonder if it is worth to pick up a set of TRD coils when I switch to the Bilstein shocks.

From what I understand progressive means that the spring rate increases the further it is compressed. Linear coils maintain spring rate to full compression. That said, I would think linear coils would ride better overall and on the other hand progressive coils would be more resistant to bottoming out.

Thanks for the explanation!! So it might not be worth to look for the TRD springs.
