Seems my shipment is delayed. Freight delivery was supposed to be here yesterday but they never showed, haven't heard from them either... :annoyed:

So I have the bp51 kit coming (coilovers, rear shocks, Dakars, LR UCAs and CB spacer) do I need to get anything else before it arrives? Bushings for the leaf Springs? Angled shims? U bolt flip kit?should i add greasable shackles?, bumpstops, new uca bolts, extended brake lines? (I'm hearing that the lift is 4 inches from stock with no armor).....

So it looks like ARB is getting some sponsorship time in with mountain state overland... Installing BP-51s on their new rigs... Some interesting info here, they put a little bit of abuse into it, but no real wheeling yet that I saw. (I'm only halfway through).

I managed to get a little trail driving. Both off and on road the system absorbs the bumps nicely. The faster you go, the smoother it gets. I did not get to play with a lot of articulation yet, but so far, I am very pleased with it. It will only be improved with the addition of UCAs and LCAs.

Why LCA's? They aren't needed unless you go LT I thought?

If anything, just to upgrade the quality of the parts and increase the precision. Total Chaos Standard Length LCAs use the uniballs and zerk fitted pivots. Lots of $$$ though. Had a little sticker shock and I would not do the LCAs anytime soon. Probably will do the UCAs next spring.

so the only option for more droop is shock extenders?

I have 886's in the front with dakars and RCD 5100's in the back with the ATO shackle flip...I like my droop.

    looks like ~25.5

shackle flip with dakars preferable length is needing ~27ish

looks like the jk 4" front extended shocks BPS5160022(front shock has same mounting style as rear Tacoma) are 16.5 collapsed and 26.8 extended....which makes it interesting as the B110 RCD Bilstein's are 16.34 collapsed and 26.34 extended.

might work with minimal modding? who has a friend with a JK to measure?

    • Rear, 22.94 is the extended length of 0-1" option Billies on Down South Motorsports website. I'm guessing oem would be about the same.

@luka that does seem to be a viable option , the jk shocks look like they could be swapped with the tacoma ones , looks like you would just need the fit kit that moves the mounting position farther from the axle, my only concern would be the valving , weight cap, etc. Too late for me the taco BP kit is going in on tuesday, would be interesting if someone tried this option

    BP5160022 SHOCK: JEEP 4+ FRONT 683 683mm/420mm (26.9/16.5in) 2* $510.00 July 2015

I don't think weight will be a big issue, but valving would be the unknown variable. playing with the settings might help mitigate it though. i'll continue to dig for whatever I can. might be a little stuck until more information is put out.

BP-51 installation happening now, backing off on the preload a little, as it's set for bar/winch, also to adjust for Taco lean etc , the tech was pushing the diff drop on me hard, i decided to wait based on what I read here, also wait you see if vibes are present/ bad, thoughts?

Thoughts on diff drop, my takeaway from TW is don't do it, anyone want to chime in? The tech is really pushing it, especially as the BP-51 lifts have been coming in at 4"
