Who's good with fiberglass? I need to get my CB installed in the Garage door opener cubby. The idea is to create a bump that the faceplate/whole cb will mount to, similar to this switch panel.

I want to move my sasquatch switch but I also need to get my bed lights in and that switch first. I want to swap my fog light switch to a rocker too so I have 3 of the same type of switches and they all need to be on the same row. My OCD can't take the inconsistency much longer

 

Draw it up, i can probably get it made of it metal.

 

Create a wire frame to the shape you like,
Get an old fleece blanket and stretch over wire frame form and secure, then saturate with fiberglass resin.

Very similar to how speaker pods are formed,
fleece blanket will stretch and conform easier than stranded or weave glass sheet, and a lot less messy.

 

I want some nice lines to look factory, It's gotta be glass.

 

I've read that but also read that it doesn't stay as sturdy like glass, or maybe the person did something wrong.

Nice. I've got an extra door panel, and thought either copy the hinge parts onto the CB bump or cut and use the door as a base to work off of. Essentially the CB will be mounted to the door and will be removable with the whole door.

 

It depends mostly on how heavy the fleece is, but once the initial form is made you can always go over with more fleece or even glass. The fleece isn't as messy as stranded glass mat to deal with on initial lay up And will hold form better while curing.

 

You could make your own using just some fleece as the form and to get the curves then hit the back with some fiberglass mat for strength
